About this deal

More like 3.5 STARS; though I did enjoy it, I think the stellar audiobook narration enhanced it and I might have been a bit bored at times were I simply reading this.) tl;dr: The ‘Enola Holmes’ books are an engaging, entertaining and empowering take on the Holmes mythos which will be a hit with girls in their tweens.

We listened to this book instead of music. She is an avid reader who loved the PBS Enola Holmes show. We both were intrigued by this case and enjoyed the book. The villain is a mentally ill woman. I dislike this in general, because it’s easy for authors to use this as an excuse for a flawed plot: it doesn’t have to make sense, because the villain’s crazy! It also makes for gruesome scenes. And yes, this book has them. The lady’s face got eaten by rats. Mycroft seems to care a bit more about stuff than was previously thought. Oh, and he knows about flowers!Enola surprises me everytime with her resourcefulness and her clever mind. I love how she always analyses and thinks everything through before acting on it. Which doesn't discount of her being able to think on her feet at moments of distress. I am still in awe how she always manages to outsmart her brothers who for reason still discredit and look upon as a child. Even though she suffers from moments of loneliness, her determination for independence is truly remarkable. Nancy Springer adalah wanita asal Montclair, New Jersey, kelahiran 5 Juli 1948. I can't give a very detailed review of this book because I've been binging books 3-6 of this series and now they're all a blur.
