About this deal

The smaller models are called the ‘Split Pad Compact’ and actually already available today in White & Red variants. My kid bought me a Power A controller a couple of years ago. It worked for a month before the A button stopped working.

Includes motion controls, HD rumble, built-in amiibo™ functionality*, charging cable (USB-C to USB-A), and more. Embark on an epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule with the Nintendo Switch™ Pro Controller - The Legend of Zelda™: Tears of the Kingdom Edition. I'm 99% sure I want to get that, but would you rate it and recommend? (assuming this is the one you have) Olmectron Yes, the split pad compact is not perfect for Zelda without motion controls, unfortunately I end up swapping them for normal joycons when I need that or use the Switch Pro Controller. I can understand the appeal of gyro aiming for TotK and why you'd prefer a controller that can offer that.

Joy-Con charging grip

Not_Soos that'd be the Split Pad Fit/Comfort. I've been using one for my Switch for 6 months and haven't taken it off. Feels really great and definitely recommended if you can take not having gyro/vibration. Type-C connector You can use the enclosed USB charging cable to pair the controller with the console or to charge it. You can also connect it directly to an AC adapter.

EDIT: also owned the switch pad pro and felt similarly to you just never felt comfortable and found the slim much better Would you be interested in any of these Hori products? If we hear any updates about a local release, we'll let you know. Nonetheless, I actually need a new case (compact specific) so I'll likely get this new white TotK one, looks pretty decent And i would like to get an OLED Switch too at some point even though the difference from regular to OLED is not huge. Big, not huge. But it is kind of pricey, it is 100 dollars just to upgrade. And then i might be too attached to sell my original Switch too, it happens. I did not sell my GBA when i got a GBA SP.With the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just around the corner, accessory maker Hori has announced a brand new line of products. When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games. His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat. As always, unfortunately the controllers don't have the functionality that you'd come to expect from the joycon or pro-controllers. It's a shame, since I really like these designs. My wired PowerA Mario controller was also my first controller that had a drifting issue and the controller itself felt too light in the hand. I'd rather spend some extra money on a Pro Controller than a PowerA controller.

The Power A controllers might look nice (although I don’t care for this one), but they feel so cheap while being too pricey for the quality you get. Already got myself a Pro Controller, another pair of Joy Cons (pink and green), and a GameCube adapter for my two GameCube Controllers (both platinum). I love my hori but had to switch to the Binbok since they have rumble and motion control. The d pad is horrendous though. Lol. MetalKingShield Hori Split pad, they've been out in other colours for at least six months. it's the same thing, just smaller.CJD87 I would happily swallow a 20% price increase as well, but I doubt it would be only 20%. One of the neat things about the Split Pad Compact and Pro as they are is that they draw such a small amount of power that they're powered by the Switch itself with no noticeable drain. If you start adding more components, you're going to have too much of a draw on the Switch's battery, meaning that each individual Compact or Pro unit would need to have a rechargeable battery. So, you've got rumble, gyro, and a rechargeable battery added to each unit. My guess is that the increase in cost would be closer to 50%. Take your game sessions up a notch with the Nintendo Switch™ Pro Controller The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition.

But if i would buy "stuff which are not just games", i would maybe be more interested in collectors editions and the very cool mario kart home circuit which i was pretty close to buy once when it was on sale but even on sale it was still kind of expensive, about 50 dollars (or the equivalent in swedish kronor). And i maybe needed to buy other stuff. Also, an SD card for Switch might be nice and maybe some amiibo. InJeffable Yes the link you just sent is the one I'm looking at. The all-white looks really fresh, and will really suit the white/yellow compact joycons I already have from HORI. ryu_san A shame these don't have motion controls, given Zelda TOTK Will use gyro aiming for arrows and whatnot. Anyway, the Split Pad Compact case I have is the white tomtoc one. Really clean and slim design with a high-quality zipper. Definitely an option if you'd rather have a low-profile case. Those TotK ones are nice, but they're pouches. They have unnecessary bulk unless you plan on carrying a lot of your Switch stuff in them. I just wish HORI would invest the R&D into making exactly the same product, but with rumble/gyro. Considering the quality of HORI products, I'd happily swallow a 20% increase on the RRP to have those functionalities.

Joy-Con AA Battery Pack Pair

InJeffable - yeh that is a solid point actually. I travel for work, and rely on my Switch to get me through 1-2hr flights - and I never ever fear that the battery will collapse in that time. You're right that gyro/rumble features would likely be a drain on this...
