Made with a mixture of fruit (fresh or frozen), water, and sugar, the compote here turns any fruit into a delicious, syrupy sauce that's great for making yogurt and granola into something special. Make these in mason jars or Tupperware to take them on the go. It will depend on stalk size — they can range a lot but I doubt you’d need more than 2 to 3 big ones. July 25, 2016 I just made these and they are so good! The most tedious part was cutting up the rhubarb, but it worked out. I cut them like Deb’s diagram and also sliced them lengthwise. My hope was to reduce the stringiness by making the rhubarb pieces smaller and it worked. I couldn’t manage the chevron pattern because I sliced all the diagonals the same direction before I realized my mistake, so I did a sort of subway-tile arrangement.
