I would have put no stars as PG tips are awful now weak and bags bursting, we have used these since childhood, won't be buying again I today bought the new biodegradable PG tips pyramid bags and the bags did not make any of the explained problems here. I am not sure how hard others stir their bag in the mug, but I can tell for myself I only drink it very strong. So keep up the good and sustainable work ! Terrible tasting tea. It tastes awful. How it ever came to be Britain's no. 1 i will never know!! Thompson's tea and particularly their "Punjana" tea bags taste far, far better.

I like Yorkshire Tea and Tetley Tea but PG always had that edge. It went downhill when they reduced the size of the tea bag a few years ago from 3.125 g per bag to 2.9 g per bag. At this point I started buying the extra Strong blend to compensate.

PG Tips has discontinued its instant tea granules after changes to manufacturing negatively affected their taste. The new plastic free bags leave an awful lot to be desired. They are so fragile, more than 50% of the time I end up with loose leaves floating in my cup which is very unpleasant. In a customer service message, the brand said it was “working extremely hard to fix the problems” with the biodegradable bags, having made “huge improvements at our factory in Manchester”. Bought a box of 40 t bags and they had all split open bar 7 that didn't,I live on a low income and can't afford 7 t bags for the price of 40, The bags kept breaking so I bought some other tea bags (Lidl gold, Lidl red, assam) to try. We did a blind taste test and both described PG as tasteless and watery. Lidl Red came out best so that’s what we are buying now! PG used to be brilliant so I’ve no idea what they’ve done to their tea… Our master blenders have developed a new, improved blend to quench the nation’s thirst.
