Description

The TPU used in PeapodMats is a type of physical membrane which creates a barrier against dust mites over the covered surface. PeapodMats prevent dampness and the build-up of debris in your mattresses, such as skin cells and sweat. PeapodMats are free from PVC and phthalates, which have been linked to the development of asthma and allergies. PeapodMats are breathable and prevent excessive sweating which can aggravate many skin conditions, including eczema. leakproof mats that make clean-up easy. PeapodMats are reusable, washable & breathable and that stay in place with no straps or velcro. Save time with a bedwetting/incontinence mat that's easy to pull off & toss in the laundry machine. The layers include the terry top that does not have a plastic-like feel like some mattress toppers do. The middle layer is a polyester wadding, giving it a slightly fluffy feel. The bottom is made of polyester, too. PeapodMats are extremely absorbent and will safely absorb over 1 litre/6 cups of liquid. To compare: the adult bladder can hold up to 2 cups of urine at one time.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're very happy to read that you find the quality of PeapodMats great. The PeaPod Mat is a 3-foot by 5-foot leakproof pad for mattresses that feels like a seriously comfortable towel. It has three layers of protection that have yet to be breached by my most relentless bedwetter. Hope this answers your question, however please get in touch with us at [email protected] if you have any questions! The only potential downside is that I could use a bigger mat to cover more of my child’s bed, especially since he’s an active sleeper. Yes, of course! PeapodMats were designed to make life easier. You can wash your PeapodMat like a big towel. Wash with similar colours. We don't recommend regular use of fabric softener, dryer sheets, dryer balls or regular use of vinegar or stain removers. These products are known to reduce the quality of waterproofing. However, vinegar or stain removers may be used once in a while if you need extra help with your PeapodMat.

Come back when you're older

We double layer DS's bed - waterproof sheet, fitted sheet, waterproof sheet, fitted sheet - so that if it gets wet in the night I can just whip off the top fitted and waterproof sheet and don't have to faff with putting more sheets on in the middle of the night. We have Nectar waterproof mattress protectors and really rate them. We recommend tumble drying. If not using a tumble dryer, stretch the fabric a little before hanging it up.

However, the Peapot Mat is certainly more convenient to remove and wash in the middle of the night than a zip-on-and-off mattress protector. It might be worth mentioning too that lifting children for a wee isn't generally recommended. It saves the sheets, but also just teaches them to wee while they are asleep and doesn't help the bladder learn to hold for longer periods of time. This could be because too much detergent was used in the wash. Just like regular towels that may stiffen over time, it is usually because too much detergent has been used and the top layer has built up a soapy residue. If you experience this, we recommend washing your PeapodMat with a cup of white vinegar and/or baking soda, with a thorough rinse. This should help make the terry cotton layer soft and fluffy once again (but if the mat has a lot of residue, you may have to do this a couple of times). DS is 5 and has never had a dry night. I’m not particularly concerned about this, he’s still young. He’s perfectly happy to wear a nappy or pull up at night but for the last couple of months he seems to leak through them almost every night! I’m exhausted with the sheet washing.

Quick to Change

You can care for your PeapodMat the same way as you would with a towel. It's perfectly suitable to be washed at any temperature and either air or tumble dried. Find the best bedwetting mat for your needs. Please keep in mind, these are only suggestions to help you find the right bedwetting solution. Factors to consider are the size and age of the child, as well as movement in bed and size of bed. Whichever PeapodMat size you choose, we highly recommend that the bedwetting mat be placed slightly under the pillow. Wow, thank you for your review, Nabi! We're very happy to read that your PeapodMat is doing a great job at protecting the mattress. Medium PeapodMat is strongly recommended up to 3-4 years of age. Please keep in mind that these is only a recommendations, if your child is large for their age at 3-4, you may need to consider a larger size. If you find that your mat feels rougher after a wash, it might be that too much detergent was used in a cycle. This can be rectified by washing your PeapodMat with a cup of white vinegar and/or baking soda, with a thorough rinse.
