My comments should not be construed to imply I am happy.  I wanted a warm, fuzzy HEA.  I do thank Sylvia for a special reading experience that makes Crossfire a standout among the books I have read. that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. Strong's 1510: I am, exist. The first person singular present indicative; a prolonged form of a primary and defective verb; I exist.

Strong's 3962: Father, (Heavenly) Father, ancestor, elder, senior. Apparently a primary word; a 'father'.Strong's 2504: To also, I too, but I. From kai and ego; so also the dative case kamoi, and accusative case kame and I, me.

As thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.--The insertion of "art," which, as the italics show, is not in the original text, weakens the sense. It is better, therefore, to omit it. The word "one," in the second clause, is of doubtful authority, and has the appearance of a gloss. The probable reading, therefore, is, That they all may be one; as Thou, Father, in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us; and the meaning is that the union of the Church may be of the same essential nature as that between the Father and the Son; yea, that the union of the Church may result from the union of individual members with the Father through the Son. (Comp. John 14:23; John 15:4-10, et al.) The Father in the Son and the Son in the Father; both Father and Son taking up their abode in the believer, and the believer, therefore, in the Father and the Son. This is the ideal of the unity of the Church of Christ; and if this union with God is realised by each individual, it necessarily follows that all the individuals will be one with each other. (Comp. Notes on Ephesians 4:4 et seq.) But(sorry), there are also bits I don't really understand...I always had the feeling, that(in the previous books) there was not-so-little focus on Gideon's and Eva's sexual relationship-development--> that Eva is actually submissive, and Gideon is working his way "in", Eva was bound, they experienced a little bit with pain, they had the swing....maybe a missed something, but....?...Then, what happens to Cary/Trey/Tat? I understand, that it is Eva's and Gideon's story, and the evolved to a point, where they able (as Sylvia said) to manage their problems on their own- I got that feeling, also with Cary...but still*hm*...something is missing somehow... that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
