About this deal

Fujifilm's next generation processless plate is ready to advance your commercial offset production to new levels of efficiency. With excellent robustness, Superia ZD delivers high run lengths and consistent quality. It is also UV ink compatible. A few nights later I met with a photographer friend and we went for a night photo walk in Darling Harbour.Again, I enjoyed being able to shoot a little more freely.I finished off the roll and handed it into my lab the next day. Designed to provide greater prepress productivity, Fujifilm has introduced the unique SUPERIA FLH-Z plate processor This unique color-negative emulsion provides retro charm and classic analog character for any scenario. Now available in medium format.

Natura also incorporated the Nano-structured Σ(Sigma) Grain Technology that Fujifilm patented. With this technology the grain is finer and more consistent. This also enables the film to be stored for longer without losing grain structure. It also has the benefit that it is designed to work in small zoom compacts as these can have lower spec glass. Pentax PC35AF and Fujifilm Superia 400. Inverted automatically in VueScan. A mix of indoor and outdoor lighting with a reasonably accurate colour reproduction. Superia colours. Alas, the fourth layer was dropped in 2007. Superia X-Tra 400 was discontinued in Japan in 2019 in favour of a local flavour of the same film: Superia Premium 400 . The Premium has no fourth layer, costs more, and is apparently “optimized for the reproduction of Japanese skin tones.” EDUCATION: Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adelphi University with a degree in Communications in Journalism in 2009. Since then, he's learned and adapted to various things in the fields of social media, SEO, app development, e-commerce development, HTML, etc.Fujifilm Superia X-Tra 400 is a medium-speed C-41 emulsion widely distributed across the Canadian drugstore chain London Drugs . The Superia line was introduced in 1998 , long before the Fujifilm axe began to swing for all but the most popular films the brand was making. It was a successor to the Fujicolor Super G “Plus” line that used Fuji’s branded Real-Tone and Emulsion Layer Stabilizing tech ( source ). All of that was aimed at improving colour reproduction, sharpness, and dynamic range. Superia does the same things but in a different way: Fuji pro 400h is a very versatile film and easy to work with, with a latitude that can be pushed extremely far both over and under exposure. And in addition to that, with 400h you get a bit of a level up with sharpness and tightness of grain over the cheaper Fuji films. At times they even made some very revered cameras. Using the Fujica and Fuji names and as Fujifilm they made cameras that tended to fill in specialty markets. For instance the magnificent GSW690 and the GS645 medium format camera series.

I really, really wish that Superia were still available in 120 format. It’s beautiful, accurate, and just has a gorgeous look to it that digital can’t totally replicate. With that said though, the look isn’t far off. Still, judging from the way these photos look and considering that this film was over 10 years expired I’m still amazed at how great it looks. The SUPERIA LH-PL employs a double-coated photosensitive layer, which delivers enhanced run lengths compared with other no-bake CTP plates. Olympus OM-1 with F-Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.8 and Fujifilm Superia 400. I used Sunny 16 to meter for this shot. Over-exposing Superia X-Tra. In 2017 came the final nail in the coffin, Fujifilm discontinued Natura 1600. To show its popularity, there was even a change.org petition to try and save the film. Film SpecificsI followed that up with using it in daylight, albeit cloudy, with a visit to a local Sunday market a few days later. It was a bit of challenge in the brighter light, but it gave me a chance to try it out. Superia 200, and even more so the supposedly budget FujiColor C200 have given me far better, and far more consistent results than Superia 400. And Superia 100 is absolutely glorious film, and in my experience a different class to Superia 400.

In the close-up pictures above, we can see that Superia does have more noticeable grain than Portra 400, but with that being said, I’d still say it’s pretty good. What’s exposure latitude? Exposure latitude is essentially how much a picture can be under or overexposed while retaining as much information as possible. Basically, Portra 400 has very good exposure latitude, which means you’ll get more information from the shadows and highlights. Superia 400 is a classic Fuji 35mm film that faithfully reproduces colours and skin tones in low-light while colour-balanced for flash - this is an excellent general use emulsion.Perhaps you can see in the bottom right-hand corner, there is some browny/yellow brush which seems more saturated in the Superia image than in the Portra image. Meanwhile, the Fuji Superia Reala, initially called Fuji Reala, is a 100 ISO portrait film made for professionals and enthusiasts. Then, there’s also Fuji Press, which comes in 400 and 800 ISO speeds; it has the same emulsions as the Fuji Superia 400 and 800 films, but especially handled and refrigerated after its manufacture. While Fuji Superia X- TRA 400 makes a good all-around colour negative on its own (even when expired, as long as it’s stored properly), redscaling it also opens up a host of fiery possibilities for your Lomographs. The lower the ISO you rate it with, the less intense the reds and oranges will turn out.
