If you are perfectly sure that the software you use is compatible with the printer, the USB port not working could be caused by a hardware problem. Restarting the computer or restoring the connection might help . Here’s how to do it. This is much larger than the standard Ender 3, the Ender 3 Pro, and the Ender 3 V2, which all have a build volume of 220 x 220 x 250 mm.

However, if you enjoy living dangerously and pushing technology to the limit, all four models are able to work at up to 180mm/s, although this does come with a major caveat of being highly unreliable and you’ll lose print quality. TheMeanWell LRS-3500-25 PSUis the correct 24V MeanWell power supply for the Ender 3, and this upgrade takes about 20 minutes to perform, excluding PSU housing print time. 🛈The Ender 3 Pro already ships with this upgrade. The Ender 3 V2 has a maximum extruder temperature of 255°C, while the other three models are capable of reaching a slightly higher 260°C. Higher temperatures mean you can print tougher filaments like ABS, Nylon, ASA — and if you can reach super high temperatures, PC and PEEK. It also has a versatile extruder that makes it more reliable for 3D printing flexible filaments, a common issue for cheap 3D printers. On top of this, the industrial-grade circuit board allows the Ender 3 to print continuously for over 200 hours without issue.Creality ships the Ender 3 Pro with their own slicer called ‘Creality Slicer’, which is compatible with Windows PCs and is based on the open-source software Cura.. Other common slicers for this open-source printer include Cura, PrusaSlicer, and Simplify3D. also saw the release of the Ender 3 V2. It gave the printer a much-needed facelift, as well as a few mechanical upgrades. All these combined, and the V2 is a much sleeker and more streamlined machine.

Creality Ender-3 V2 - Review 2022 - PCMag UK

This simple screen coverprotects your Ender 3 display’s PCB (printed circuit board) from damage. Bowden tube fitting fix Extra support beams beneath the baseplate and tighter construction of the printer as a whole, introduced in the Ender 3 Pro, means that any model built after this has a distinct stability advantage over the standard. Production Quality For the first print, I attempted one of the test prints included on the memory card. I used a third-party PLA filament; the print came out brittle and poorly cohesive. I tried again, this time using Ender filament, but try as I could, I couldn't get it to extrude. I expected that the extruder might be clogged, so I preheated the extruder to PLA melting temperature and took the long, very thin needle that Creality includes with the printer and poked it into the nozzle a few times. This cleared out the problem, and from then on the V2 extruded normally. In retrospect, I suspect the problem wasn't with the filament, but that the nozzle was set a little too close to the print bed, touching it in places so that filament wouldn't come out and causing the clog. After that are the assembly instructions, replete with small diagrams, some of them a little too small for comfortable viewing. (I used a magnifier when needed.) I was baffled by one diagram that showed a correct and a wrong way of connecting a nut and bolt; only when I magnified the diagram did I see its proper orientation. Instructions in the guide are cursory; I supplemented them by watching several third-party Ender-3 V2 assembly videos.

A Fun (But Perhaps Frustrating) Challenge for 3D Printing Newbies

The Ender 3 Pro's V4.2.2 controller board features HR4988 stepper drivers, which can create a noticeable amount of noise during printing. Combined with the noisy fan that cools the controller board and the intermittent fan on the power supply, this printer makes a surprising amount of noise when printing. The buzzing from the stepper motors reminded me of my very first 3D printer from 2013, a Printrbot Jr. that could be heard from clear across the house through multiple walls when it was printing. The Ender-3 V2 is very similar in design to the Prusa i3 series and is said to have been loosely modeled on it. The AnyCubic Vyper, which has a build area of 10.2 by 9.6 by 9.6 inches, also bears a similar design. The printer's base holds the power supply and supports the carriage on which the build platform can move in and out. The base has a slot for a microSD card, as well as a micro-USB port. Of course, in addition to decreasing noise, this board and its upgraded stepper motor drivers improve the quality of your prints. 4 – OctoPrint By including Creality Slicer with the Ender 3 Pro, Creality has simplified the printer experience for first-time users who are interested in getting their printer up and running without spending a lot of time experimenting with third party software. I was impressed with how easy the Creality Slicer software was to install and use with the Ender 3 Pro, because most other manufacturers with printers in this price range ship without first-party software. The basic settings to create a print are brought to the front of the app and the included “expert” mode will let you adjust settings as you become more comfortable with the printer.

The V2 comes with all the tools you should need for assembly—although, as mentioned, I also needed to use one of my own wrenches to resolve an issue. This is not the model to get if you are looking to simply plug and print. Many closed-frame printers, as well as the pre-assembled Prusa i3 MK3S+, fit that profile, though the latter costs about three times as much as the V2. Before you print anything else, print this mod.The location of the mainboard fan is directly beneath the build plate, meaning bits of filament can fall in and damage the fan or board. The model is available on Thingiverse. Filament guide Ender 3S1: use this version if you have an Ender 3S1 printer with CRTouch, (F1 is for the STM32F103 and F4 is for the STM32F401 SoC) Additionally, Creality have added a new tensioner to the timing belt to make printing much smoother and fix the reported stability issues. Thankfully, newer versions of Marlin have thermal runaway protection, a software-level safeguard that polls periodically for an increase in temperature and shuts things down if something isn’t right.Heat the hotbed to 60~70 degrees Celsius, and then shovel a little bit from the edge with a spatula. And for a generally improved and more relaxed 3D printing experience, opt for the Ender 3 V2 and its slew of useful upgrades. Preview works in DWIN and DACAI screens (selected automatically, S1 F4 preview supports only DACAI screens in the precompiled firmware, some DACAI screens may need a firmware update) printing with Ender 3 directly from your PC is all fun and games, but there are a few things to remember if you don’t want to fail mid-project.
