About this deal

The low end was ok in most cases. It didn't have impact, weight or transient as DT770 but it is there. This is what I thought before I moved to the other music genres. Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium review The ‘Premium’ version brings improvements to the original model, delivering across the board with good sound, comfort and build As well as capturing the natural buoyancy of Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s Come With Me, they have no problem painting the band’s stage arrangement, with trumpets, clarinets and pianos well placed. There are fundamentally two differences between the models. Firstly, the Edition models have asofter headband for enjoying music at home whereas the PRO headset has a slightly firmer fit. Secondly, the Edition models come equipped with a straight cable whereas the PRO models come with a coiled cable. The hd-650 sounded like the 990's if someone put an equalizer on them that turned down every frequency past 3khz down 3-6db.

Impulse and transient response is enhanced for improved mix translation across other sound systems. Comfortable To Wear Comfort: 5 stars - Pretty fluffy ear cups. I wear glasses and my deal breaker is that the headphones do not press my ears too hard against the frame of the glasses. I do however fear that during summer the ear cups will be a bit too warm. Perhaps one of the defining features of the DT990s are the over-ear, padded velour ear pads which provide superior comfort for longer mixing and mastering sessions. For a long time I had T60RP, this is an isodynamic driver, it can play very loudly, respectively, bass and sub-bass are reproduced very well, on a large scale, but all other frequencies seem to sound narrower than bass.Overall, the clamping force is neither too weak nor too strong. It’s just perfect and won’t give you a headache if you use the headphones for several hours at a stretch, especially when mixing, mastering or recording in the studio.

While the 990's are really similar, they are tighter on the ears, and I don't like that at all, but they are still quite comfortable. The name “Beyerdynamic” and the word “comfort” are synonymous. Yes, that’s right. All Beyerdynamic headphones feel soft and plush. And, we did not feel different about the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones. The Beyedynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones have soft and velvety earpads. I used the LP-phone-amp-g103 to drive all of these headphones so there shouldn't be any issues with the amp. However, it is not too overpowering. The treble boost is powerful and sounds sharp. The mids are mild, and the low and high frequencies are clear. To be honest, the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones sound better than some of the best surround sound headphones. Nevertheless, if you want more power, you can couple the headphones with one of the best headphone amplifiers on the market. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones have excellent sound quality.ohms impedance for studio applications thanks to their transparent, spacious, strong bass and treble sound I also remember the old Shure 840, I sold them because of the weight) Although they were closed, they were very cool. I really liked their sound. There are fundamentally two differences between the models. Firstly, the Edition models have a softer headband for enjoying music at home whereas the PRO headset has a slightly firmer fit. Secondly, the Edition models come equipped with a straight cable whereas the PRO models come with a coiled cable. Made InGermany The individual calibration by Sonarworks of the DT990s does a great job of reining in the top end brightness, providing a much flatter response that I found instantly trustworthy and clear. The DT 990 Edition headphones for use at home and the DT 990 PRO studio headphones: Soundwise, both models are identical as they feature identically designedacoustic transducers.

Individual Headphone Calibration:To get a better performing headphone profile it's well worth considering getting a set of headphones direct from Sonarworks, which include an individual calibration profile. This profile is unique to the exact headphones you buy from the Sonarworks store. The individual headphone calibration provided by Sonarworks is very much like the calibration profile you measure for Sonarworks Speaker Calibration, the profile is unique to that pair of headphones. The bass is powerful yet properly balanced. It is not too overpowering. The treble is outstanding. The highs and lows are precise and clear. These headphones are available in two models with different impedance: 80 Ohms and 250 Ohms. On the one hand, the 80 Ohms model is suitable for a variety of studio applications; they are very versatile. On the other hand, the 250 Ohms model is professional-grade. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 Ohms Headphones are best for mixing and mastering in the studio. We were not surprised to learn that many popular DJs are using these headphones for mixing and mastering. We’ve also listed the DT 990 Pro as one of the best DJ headphones. Gaming The Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones are ideal for gaming. Although they have advertised 250 Ohms impedance you average smartphone can drive them pretty well to painfully strong sound pressure level. The caveat however is that if you pair them with a simple amplifier you will unleash the beast <1KHz. I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried them on my phone, then thrilled on my audio interface Komplete 2, finally the HA4 "KOMPLETED" the circle of audio pleasure. I compared them directly to Custom One Pros, Marshall Major and K-701 all four driven from the same source - Komplete 2 + HA4. I equalised the volume to the best of my perception and the DT 990s wiped the the floor with the competition.
