(Meine Meinung wird dadurch natürlich nicht beeinflusst) Dieses Buch ist voll von reiner Fantasie. Tom Fletcher erzählt die Geschichte vom Weihnachtsmann nicht so, wie wir sie kennen. In diesem Buch zum Beispiel mag der Weihnachtsmann Karotten viel lieber, als Weihnachtsplätzchen und die Geschenke entstehen auch auf ganz andere Art und Weise. Der Weihnachtsmann liest dem ersten Weihnachtsbaum, den es je gegeben hat, sämtliche Wunschzettel der Kinder vor und die kleinen Elfen buddeln dann irgendwann die ganzen Geschenke aus dem Eis frei. Klingt das nicht wahnsinnig toll? Mehr als einmal habe ich mich dabei erwischt mir zu wünschen, dass all diese Geschichten wahr sind.

In Der Weihnachtosaurus spielt, wie der Titel des Buchs schon vermuten lässt, natürlich auch ein Dinosaurier eine gewisse Rolle und wie könnte es anders sein, treffen die beiden Welten aufeinander, aber in dieser Geschichte geht es gar nicht so sehr um das ver- und beschenken, sondern vielmehr um die Dinge, auf die es wirklich ankommt und die das wichtigste im Leben sind. Familie, Freundschaft, Ängste überwinden, für andere da sein und um den Glauben. Den Glauben an sich selbst, das Vertrauen in andere und in das, was einem wichtig ist. Bis eine neue Mitschülerin auftaucht: Brenda Pein. Ein hübsches Mädchen, dass allerdings viele fiese und gemeine Charakterzüge hat, die William das Leben schwermachen. Das beschreibt der Autor teilweise sehr deutlich und mit wirklich rabiater Manier, das hätte meiner Meinung nach auch nicht ganz so krass sein müssen.Außerdem habe ich herausgefunden, dass es auch eine Musical Version des Buches gibt. Mit zum Buch gibt es eine CD mit passenden Liedern. ich habe mir gestern auf Youtube eines angehört und ich bin hin und weg, ich bin regelrecht verliebt. Wie konnte es nur passieren, dass ich bis dato noch nie etwas von Tom Fletcher gehört habe? Schande über mein Haupt! Ich werde das Buch definitiv noch einmal auf Englisch lesen, sobald es da ist und mir währenddessen die Lieder dazu anhören. Denn irgendwie finde ich die Übersetzungen, besonders was die Reime und Lieder angeht, manchmal doch etwas komisch, deshalb bin ich nun sehr auf das Original gespannt und freue mich einfach wie ein kleines Honigkuchenpferd auf die Musical CD.
