About this deal

Now, let’s say you don’t own a Britax or Diono seat. What do you do? It’s time to get a little old-school with the water proofing. We probably all wore them as children, and fortunately, rubber pants are still available from some retailers. While they’re not the most comfortable thing in the world (they don’t breathe at all, obviously), if placed on immediately before the trip and removed immediately thereafter Some days she may not wee much though, sometimes her body will use more water than others. And other times she will hold on to it for hours then do one almighty wee that you think might never end!! DS only goes about 2/3 times a day (and poos once a day) but DD goes every hour or so, I think it's just down to individual 'holding' mechanisms. I realise this will improve but what have other mums done. I'm reluctant to use a carrier bag and towel, or things like bed protectors cut up unless the car seat protectors are really useless!

I would prefer to leave it in the car seat with a spare for accidents. My thoughts are it needs to keep the car seat dry, and absorb as much wee as possible without my daughter feeling completely wet. I think she is just holding on and holding on - is she waiting for the Pull Ups ot is it just bladder control? I think she wees less than I do right now! It’s helpful for toddlers to get familiar with using the toilet by reading about it or seeing pictures of storybook characters (ideally their favorites, like Daniel Tiger) using the potty. In Daniel’s Potty Time the little tiger learns a hard lesson every kid (and honestly, every adult) needs to face at some point: It’s important to go to the bathroom before leaving the house. When it comes to small children, don’t throw all your hard work down the drain. Help your potty training toddler by having a portable potty seat, a change of clothes, extra clothes and more clothes, and have them work on telling you when they need a potty break. You can continue with the toilet training and not have to worry about potty training regression! The unfortunate thing about potty training car seat protectors is that they are not actually tested with car seats in car crash safety tests so they could be compromising the safety of your child in their car seat. I am not saying they do in fact make it unsafe, only that it hasn’t been proven or tested to be safe when used with your car seat, in your vehicle. You can choose to invest in one of these if you so choose. There are several options out there, most which are water proof and even include storage (which can be handy on a road trip!). Having gone through all the necessary steps to keep my car seat free from accidents during potty training, I can confidently say that I'm well-prepared for anything that comes my way. From washable seat covers to easy-to-use stain removers, it's essential to know the right tools and materials to protect your car seat during potty training. Taking the extra time to make sure my car is clean and potty-training friendly has been a worthwhile effort in the long run. Many parents may decide to forgo potty training while traveling. It just is too off the norm and too different from your toddler’s routine and schedule to seem manageable. Potty training on the road is also just another thing to stress and worry about while on vacation! I have been a bit cheeky with her this nap time. I have left her pants on and put the Pulls Ups over them. The reason behind it isn't being mean really, but seeing if she is just waiting to wee in her Pulls Up and not on potty. If this is the case I imagine her calling out to me very soon as she HATES having wet pants. What did I say!!! As I typed originally she called out for me saying that she wanted a wee. Lo and behold, I got her Pull Ups/pants down so she could sit ont he potty - but they were already wet! Once she can tell you she needs a wee/poo then it's not too difficult to stop the car and whip the potty out wherever you go. Or now in our case pee at the side of the road/down a drain/up against an ancient monument (DS who else????). DD recently did a poo at the side of the M1 into the potty.........the lorry drivers thought it was hilarious!!!Never used a Caremat (like Jaybee says, never had them in my day LOL) and have never used Pull-ups/training pants. But, that’s why I’m writing this post. I want to give you some tools for handling the potty training on the go, especially in the car, on a long road trip. Potty Training and Travel I wanted to run with this momentum! I didn’t want to put it off (again). We had two weeks before our big road trip, so I decided to really give it a go.
