Description

There is no room thirteen in the creepy Crow's Nest Hotel, where Fliss and her friends are staying on a school trip. Or is there? For at the stroke of midnight, something peculiar happens to the door of the linen cupboard next to room l2. And something is happening to Ellie-May Sunderland, too - something very sinister . . .

Book is about kids around 12 or 13 going on a school trip to whilby then end up going to some strange hotel called the Crowns Nest, and Atmosphere was really scary S. America: commmas for fronted adverbials, co-ordinating conjunctions, semi-colons, apostrophes for omission and possession. Seriously though, it is an amazing read and I definitely recommend it to any YA readers. I first read this book in my English class at school when I was about 14, at first I wasn't too into it, but after the first couple of chapters I really started to like it. Every English lesson I became very excited to continue with the book. It has been a favourite of mine for a long time. Room 13 was really good book. I know I am lil bit older for this book but reading kid's book is always fun, and recently I been fond of them The charecters are very likabel because when there acting you can tell if there rude of there sceared sometime they don't like each other but in the end the are triying to find out what is going on in the hotel. I thought this book was absolutely brilliant. One thing I never knew before I read it; Dracula lives in a hotel. Haha, who knew?

Europe: nouns, verbs, adjectives, subject/verb, capital letters and full stops, question marks and exclamation marks Sall Haggerlythe: An elderly woman who sits in the bus shelter near the children's hotel, and is widely believed to be insane. The language used encapsulated the theme well, and the suspense building throughout was believable.

A creepy story about a second year (Year 11) school holiday to Whitby. Why does Room 13 appear on the stroke of midnight and vanish during the day? Why does Ellie-May start sleepwalking and going into Room 13 every night? And why won't the teacher's believe Fliss and her friends when they tell them what's going on? Fliss is main character and she has a bad dream and then she goes to her Mom and says she don't want to go to the trip but her mom says it's just dream, so don't worry . A great pace and a lovely story line, although it seems like it’s taken me almost 24 hours to actually read it, I think it took 4 when actually squishing the minuets together! But to review… Yearling (imprint of Random House Children's Books) an imprint of Penguin Random House Children's UK

this book is about a class that when into an hotel and there was something wrong about it.This genre is horror you can tell because of the front cover and how the girl is opening the door. The book itself is about a group of tennagers who go on a schooltrip to Whitby and stay in a hotel. The main protagonist (Fliss I think) realises there is no Room 13 except at Midnight when a cupboard transforms into it. (Kind of reminds me of Toms Midnight Garden for some reason. Like I said I have a thing about the number 13). In the book there a ton of other mysterious and spooky(?) things apart from the room itself. Most of it points to the most infamous vampire in literature - as the setting suggests.
