Description

A precision-crafted 215mm extension rod extends smoothly and uniformly, providing easier adjustments and more creative options when shooting. The new design features a USB port on the right side of the grip, allowing you to charge your smartphone while shooting. Additionally, you can charge DJI Osmo Mobile 3 with a power bank, which means you’ll never run out of battery at a critical moment. How to Update Firmware

Osmo - DJI

Keeping DJI Osmo Mobile 3’s firmware up to date is the best way to take advantage of all the latest features and improvements. If a new firmware update is available, a prompt will appear in the DJI Mimo app. Just follow the on-screen instructions to update. We got the DJI OM 4 to pair with our iPhone and Android phones via the iOS and Play Store app called DJI Mimo, and it instantly recognized the new gimbal via a Bluetooth connection. We didn't have to dive into our phone's settings menu to pair it. Press the M button three times to enter Standby mode. In Standby mode, the LED indicator will flash yellow or green, and you will be able to use your smartphone while the gimbal is folded. This mode saves you from having to remove your smartphone or rebalance the gimbal before every use. Practically speaking, we’d say the fewer ports on the new OM 5 make sense, and help the series reach a new level of design excellence, even if the hardcore geek in us is sad to see some handy functions like reverse charging removed from the line. Design

SZ DJI Technology Co. Ltd. provides the firmware “as is” and “as available” for your use, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including all implied warranties of merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose. You expressly agree that your use of, or inability to use the firmware is at your sole risk. In no case shall SZ DJI Technology Co. Ltd. be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of any of the firmware, including but not limited to, any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of your misuse, transmitted, etc. To the left of the main button interface is a zoom slider, which engages digital zoom through the DJI Mimo app, and a power button above it, which switches between photo and video shooting with a single press. On the front of the gimbal is a trigger that can reset the gimbal position, and finally, there’s a USB-C port for charging the gimbal. You could certainly argue that the OM 4 is a better gimbal than the OM 5. While it doesn’t have the mega fancy extending arm, what it does do is operate as a more versatile gimbal when it isn’t extended.

Osmo Mobile 6 - Digital Photography Review Review: DJI Osmo Mobile 6 - Digital Photography Review

Before using Osmo Mobile 3 for the first time, you will have to activate the device. To do so, open the DJI Mimo app and tap the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen. Search for your Osmo Mobile 3’s Bluetooth, and tap connect. Enter your DJI account name, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish activation. Use USB2.0 cable to connect the OS X device and SSD Reader. Noted that the data transfer speed is reduced in this case. Here's a caveat: when we had our iPhone in a medium-sized case, that little bit of extra girth and a sloped plastic frame forced the iPhone to pop out multiple times. We weren't using an Otterbox Defender case, either. It was a Razer Arctech Pro – not an ultra-thin case by any means, but not incredibly bulky either. That's a concern if you are tied to a specific phone case.As for the gimbal’s battery life, the OM 5 is powered by a 1,000mAh cell, which is significantly smaller than that of the OM 4, which was 2,460mAh. It therefore lasts around half the time. That's sad, but with around six hours of life from a single charge, we’re not too upset. Six hours of use time is plenty for a gimbal, and the fact it isn’t a portable power bank will mean that battery isn’t going to be shared with other devices. DJI Mimo app Zhiyun might be the biggest name in camera gimbals besides DJI, and the Smooth Q3 is just one of several models for mobile it offers. With a compact sliding design and excellent build quality, it feels broadly on the same level as DJI’s offerings. Even if it doesn’t match DJI’s handy magnetic clamp design, it does come with a built-in swiveling fill light for keeping your subject (or yourself) illuminated, and its stabilization is broadly similar to the OM 4 and 5’s.
