About this deal

Beth is such a great main character. I really related to her character arc teehee and she's super easy to root for. CINEMATIC PARALLELS (+1) - This bonus section is a clear sign that I've read this book too many times. Anyway both Beth and Vihaan have moments at the beginning where they refuse the other's help, mirrors of moments at the end where they end up accepting the help instead. My brain is so huge for this actually Lots of unexpected events kept me on the edge of my seat as I devoured this book in just a few days! A fast paced, engaging science fiction adventure. When Beth and a small group of other children suddenly find themselves in charge of Orion, a giant space ship, after a mysterious incident, floating in space is the least of their worries. Think about how all five senses experience the world around you, both inside and outside of the spaceship.

The bestselling Frostheart trilogy concludes in this epic story of bravery, loyalty and friendship. A small group of teenagers is left unaffected; a smart bunch, whose responsibility it suddenly is to work out what happened, and to get the ship to safety. Below is a selection of images of the Orion constellation captured by BBC Sky at Night Magazine readers and astrophotographers. And then the next thing is: where does it take place? Well, that could be entirely up to you really, but it could be at a football game. It could be in a magical unicorn kingdom. It could be in your school. Wherever it is, have a think: what does it look like? What does it sound like? What does it smell like? If it's your school what does it smell like just after lunch? What does it smell like just after the boys have done P.E? What is it like to be there? And then lastly, have a think about the kind of problem that you want. What is the danger that they've got?

The Orion Lost is a huge ship taking colonists to a new planet when a mysterious 'event' takes place. All the adults are placed into a coma by the ship's computer and it is up to a small group of children to get the ship to safety and work out what happened. Beth, aged only 13, suddenly finds herself captain and has to overcome her own self-doubt to lead her small team and ship to safety. The ship's computer is keen to help but there is something not right, why does it monitor their every move?... Read Full Review The emission nebulosity described as Barnard’s Loop is well known among astrophotographers, yet part of its section above and slightly east of M78 can be traced with a 6-inch Dobsonian. This faint, ‘milky’ patch curves and ends close to mag. 9.0 open cluster NGC 2112. Low magnification is best for the loop. Use mag. 4.4 Pi 2 (π 2) Orionis to home in on this faint galaxy, which rests just 18 arcminutes east of the star and shines at mag. 15.0. This galaxy has a couple of mag. 10.0 stars nearby that help you locate it. Just south of Pi 2 Orionis is UGC 3180, another mag. 15.0 galaxy, this time all alone in the night sky. I did feel sorry for what her fear was. And yes, she endangered things, but I can imagine that she just wanted to show that she could lead. That she was strong.

I couldn't put the book down! A story that puts the courage and skills of a group of children to the test when they have to get their transport ship to safety. Tyler can’t wait for the summer holidays to start, until she discovers she's been enrolled by her dad at Happyville Summer Camp. Even more alarming is when, through a madcap series of events, she starts to morph into a werewolf. Hilarious stuff. Also, I was pleased that it's as big as it is - there's a lot of story here, in a way that's perhaps unusual for middle grade books, but it's all there for a reason. I thought that the ending could perhaps have done with a little more and that's again an unusual thing for this age-group. Stories sometimes strain against circumstance and genre, but this is a story that fits so very well into its situation and could even give more under the circumstances. I really do want to say something about the engines being able to take it but I'm not sure I can write that in an appropriate 'Scottish engineer on the Enterprise' tone of voice so just consider it as implied, thank you.

Most of the story centers around her and 5 other characters, which means that the others have to be strong supporting characters too. Thankfully, they are. Each is distinctive in their talents and personalities, and as a whole the group have some great scenes. If there was a word for chemistry but for negative interactions that's how I would describe it. Like, it's immensely entertaining to watch the group argue, which sounds bad but it's an integral part of the plot and I promise it's fun 😭

Sci-fi always surprises me with how much I really enjoy it as a genre. Which is the exact same way with middle grade because I really enjoy the middle grade age range quite a lot! The stars, from east to west, are known by their Arabic names of Alnitak (‘belt’), Alnilam (‘string of pearls’), and Mintaka (‘girdle’). ACCUSATION NATION (+0.5) - Rivals are separate from enemies mainly because they fall on the same side of the overall conflict, while enemies are on opposing sides. So to have one accuse the other of being not a rival, but an enemy? Bold moves indeed. The Orion by Lost Vape is the worlds first Pod system to use Evolv's latest chipset, the DNA Go.
