About this deal

Aiden and Riley have such a hot and toxic relationship. A lot of the drama centered around miscommunication and Aiden wanting his revenge. There was a lot of sex and smut and I wish there a little bit of more time for finding an emotional balance. There definitely was scenes toward the end, but not enough to were I feel like they are that strong of a point. Their relationship was a little bit of a slow burn. But I needed more of after the burning settled and a steadier path. I’m trying to think of the best way to put my feelings about this book into more words than that and I’m struggling. I just keep playing my favorite parts over and over in my head - I adored it that much. I think what I was missing was a level of depth to the FMC coming to terms with her trauma. That is really my only complaint because we did get glimpses but I felt like something was missing in the end.

Oaths and Omissions by Sav R Miller | Waterstones

Later she really didn’t try that hard to clarify things and considering she was supposed to be in hiding she seemed very unconcerned regarding her own safety. Despite that, these two did have explosive chemistry together and the story was interesting enough to keep me reading though I did see the twist coming as soon as it was hinted at. Lenny Primrose is a character that has been hinted at throughout the series, her family and its history appearing in the first book briefly. She is the stereotypical golden child, who is put as the face of the family to profit off. However she is different from this, she has a darker side to her nature that should have been explored further. This sadistic side of her personality was swept over briefly when it should have been one of the main vocal points that brought her and Jonas together. Since we met up that day in Boston a few weeks ago, we’ve had a dozen lunch dates; despite my initial apprehension regarding making friends, as that skill wasn’t one I grew up utilizing much, Elena and I sort of hit it off immediately. She’s warm and inviting, but there’s also this alluring darkness to her. An edge I’ve not seen in many people, especially any my age, that I find somehow comforting. Like I can embrace the broken, ugly parts of me in her presence, and all she’ll do is show me hers in return.” So... this might have just dragged me out of my book slump. Transparently, I was very skeptical of this book because I really did not like the first book in this series, Promises and Pomegranates, at all. The reason why I read this book anyway was because of the 1) fake relationship trope and 2) Sav R Miller's writing is literally so good that I'm constantly in awe of it. I have genuinely not enjoyed writing the way I have enjoyed hers in a very long time.Ma adesso era cresciuta e non aveva tempo per pensare a lui. Erano cambiate tante cose da allora, troppe, soprattutto negli ultimi due anni. Anche se nulla era dipeso da lei. i just hate false advertising. i’m not as triggered as i was during the second book bc now i know not to trust this author. i don’t understand the need to call this book “dark” when its all fluff and more fluff. The only plus I can give it is that the OP drama wasn't as big as in her other books and the hero is not a manwhore. You could,” she concedes, even as she puts more distance between us. Reaching the door to the stairwell, she grips the knob in one hand and twists, pushing it open. “But that’s not why you came here tonight, is it?” fluff until the 46% mark. i mean genuinely nothing dark nothing happening. those 46% were all set in ONE day. imagine reading 16 chapters of them spending their "one night stand" i was bored out of my mind bc there wasn't any smut either.

Though I didn’t see the plot twist at first, but because I accidentally read a spoiler, saurrrrr it feels kinda meh + the epilogue was mediocre but other than that? I actually devoured.

Sav R. Miller is a USA Today bestselling author of adult romance with varying levels of darkness and steam. I'm especially looking forward to Souls and Sorrows because my favorite greek myth inspires it: Eros & Psyche. The reason for both (the hard and the refreshing part) is the same. I found so much of myself in both Riley and Aiden, having highlighted so many quotes where they describe their mental state or their level of inadequicy.

The problem with her is that I’ve known all along she would be trouble. I just fear I’ve miscalculated what kind she’d be.” Forgotten the title or the author of a book? Our BookSleuth is specially designed for you. Visit BookSleuth After the downfall of the first installment, I didn't think I'd love Aiden and Riley's story but I did anyway. I love their dynamic and how perfectly fit they are for one another. While their chemistry was palpable, I wished at times (especially after their reunion) that their relationship would be less about doing it and more on a deeper emotional level. I don't think I've every felt so seen in another character's perspective the way I did with that paragraph.

Please rail me into the next century, sir, I will thank you for it with my mouth and spread thighs. He calls her love. Don't bang my line, for I am deceased. He's the standard, people. The. Standard. Riley is a girl who’s been through a lot, and has a hard time letting people see the real her. Because her past trauma isn’t only on the inside, but on the outside too. Uuuggh, while I loved this, I really really wanted more from Jonas and Lenny. I really loved the two of them together, and separately. Jonas is perfectly cold and murderous, and Lenny is fierce and feisty.
