This is a draw activated vape so you just have to inhale on the mouthpiece to vape. There’s no physical fire button or buttons of any sort. It’s a very easy to use device. The draw activation works great too and requires little effort to vape. You get a different draw from each of the included pods but it’s a small difference. The 1.4ohm pod is a tight mouth-to-lung draw. The 1.0ohm pod is a looser MTL draw. If you like a tighter draw you’ll probably prefer the 1.4ohm pod but if you like a draw that is a little more airy you’ll like how the 1.0ohm pod hits.I have been vaping over a month now and find that they tend to burn out or can’t taste any flavour. With this pod you can get a good flavour for more than 3 days.

With respect to performance, the NOVO 2 –like its predecessor –is decent, I just don’t think it quite hits hard enough to get inside our Best Pod Vape Guide, alongside the likes of the UWELL Caliburn and Orchid Ultra. If you want huge clouds, sublime flavor, and battery life that lasts a week between charges; there are much, much better (not pod-based) systems for that, but for excellent portability, attractive and unobtrusive aesthetics, reliable and simple operation, and an overall well-balanced pod-based experience, SMOK’s NOVO 2 definitely doesn’t disappoint!When it comes to specs and features, the SMOK NOVO 2 is a simple vape –it doesn’t have a lot of features. But that’s the deal with pods –they’re designed to be simple. The original Novo was a great device but battery life was a downside. It looks like Smok listened to the community when making the Novo 2 so I’m excited to see how it performs. Could this be the pod vape we’ve all been waiting for? The key things it has (and does right) are battery life and its draw; the MTL draw is near-perfect, just like the Caliburn or, if you’re coming from cigarettes, just like pulling on a real smoke.

In our humble opinion: no. Pod-based systems have reached a stage of development where they do what they do, and generally, do it quite well. Vaping with the Novo 2 has been awesome. The pods take a fill to break in but once they do they’re amazing. I’m particularly impressed by the 1.0ohm pod. The mesh produces accurate and full flavor that is surprising to get from a pod vape. It’s not on the level of an RDA (no pod vape is) but it’s definitely good. The draw is a little looser than I prefer but the quality of vapor makes up for it big time.

In my few weeks with the NOVO 2, I haven’t had any issues with this aspect of the device. It hits consistently every time. On the bottom of the device, you have a microUSB port for charging. The Smok Novo 2X vape kit includes a 0.9 Ohm Smok Novo 2X pod which features a built in mesh coil. This means that e-liquid in the pod is vapourised against a larger surface area, which improves flavour production whilst still creating a smaller amount of vapour. We recommend pairing this pod with e-liquids that are 50% PG and higher to ensure the coil lasts as long as possible and the best flavour is created. One of the pods tastes burnt before I'd even started, that's with waiting 10 mins and priming the coil.
