For the better understanding of strong and weak points of Logitech G MX 518 I divided this review in a couple of logical parts… Let’s begin. Size and Shape

For me the wheel was very lagged and usually took a full spin just to get a single response or sometimes it wouldn't respond at all.Considering the numbers in which original models are sold, and that people are usually nostalgic Logitech decided to modernize hardware of MX518 and rerelease it as MX518 G Legendary. If you’ve ever used the original Logitech G MX518 then you have a good idea what to expect here. In my product briefing before this review, Logitech shared that they dusted off many of the same tools for the manufacturing process as they did when it was originally made. As a result, the mouse is shaped exactly the same and feels extremely close to the original, if a bit lighter. People used on ultralight mice will not be happy with it, however good thing is due the excellent balance it does not feel like a 100g mouse. It could be little bit lighter but I don’t feel it’s a heavy mouse. It has enough weight for precise movement, but not much to be annoying and it’s perfectly balanced. New vs Old The mouse felt very natural in my hand. The contouring fit my hand well and I especially liked the support the mouse gave to my thumb. At five inches long and three inches wide, it felt great in both palm and claw grips, though it is 10-15mm larger than popular fingertip-style mice, like the Logitech G Pro, in length and width. Gamers who use a lighter touch may find the MX518 Legendary a tad too large, but at only 101 grams, it’s easy to use no matter which grip style you prefer. The Legendary is only five grams lighter than the original MX518 but compared to my 147g Corsair Scimitar MMO mouse, it feels downright airy.

Side buttons are better than in old MX 518, but their position is not perfect and some other mice have them more upward which seems to be better solution.I put the MX518 Legendary through its paces in a handful of first person shooters to test its accuracy in the heat of battle. I was also curious how much utility I could pull from remapping the DPI selection buttons. The first game I tested was Apex Legends. It’s become my go-to in-and-out shooter and the controls feel like second nature to me with my daily driver Logitech G Pro. From a gaming point of view, the 1600dpi sensor found in the MX518 will be a real draw for anyone wanting to improve their frag count. Now I didn’t realise just how clumsy the movement on my basic mouse was until I started using the MX518. Playing my game of choice, Counter Strike: Source, I found that I could zero in on targets from a distance far more easily. This was obviously due to the face that I could move my crosshair with greater sensitivity and ultimately grab more of those kudos enhancing headshots. Software is very basic. Logitech G Hub allows you to reconfigure any button on the mouse or assign it macro commands. title=More%20Expert%20Tech%20Roundups&type=articles%2Cvideos&tags=tech-roundup&count=6&columnCount=6&theme=article
