This section of the book, or in any film or series about Jeffrey Dahmer always infuriates me, it's really pisses me off, I can't even imagine what the family members of the victims felt/still feel now about this now. So I can see why Jeffrey might act in a similar way, when he grew up in a unstable family dynamic and neither parent seems to be empathetic, both his parents are wrapped up in their own little worlds, distant, emotionally unavailable. Perhaps the title is not the best. I don't think we really got into the mind of Jeffrey Dahmer here, but the author did talk about his childhood, his upbringing, his parents’ relationship, his time in the military and those he killed. I hope all the victims’ families have healed and I hope that people who are parents will start taking the time to be with their kids spending quality time and teaching them how to be good people. I don’t condone what he did but I don’t consider him a monster either just a misunderstood person who had parents that were self-centered and not worthy to be parents of Jeff or any child. Any book about Jeffrey Dahmer will include very graphic descriptions of rape, murder, mutilation of a still living person(s), the mutilation, cannibalisation of their corpses.

Inside the Mind of Jeffrey Dahmer: The Cannibal Killer

We always ask ourselves, “Why?”“Why did she do this?”“Why did he cause such harm.” Things like that. This person on Tik Tok was a paramedic. She said that the worst case she ever dealt with was the homicide of two young children. She asked her boss, “How can someone do something like this?” And her boss responded with, “The day you can figure it out you become one of them.” And it is true isn’t it? The fact that we cannot comprehend the nature of such crimes is our sanity. He was living with his grandma for some time, until they became suspicious and cautious of where he was going, what he was doing while he was living there, eventually they asked him to leave. I was similar as a child, abandoned, bulied at school and was put away at age 8 for being very shy, inward and scared of people. I often wet the bed. In it’s truth it was appauling”. Fixed it for you, ye offspring of a neurologist: In its [no apostrophe], [comma] it was appalling [spelling corrected]. You might want to pay attention to that tiny red-dotted underlining when you type. He may have known by law what was right and wrong but in his own mind, will not have seen it in that way and also may not have been able to control his compulsions due to their overwhelming nature. As if that wasn't bad enough, Lionel waited until Jeffrey had been incarcerated for 15 murders (2 not accounted for in charges) before he admitted that he had also had disturbing and destructive behaviour related thoughts throughout his life! It begs belief! Furthermore, Jeff had started to consume alcohol and by 14 he was an alcoholic. The school, obviously concerned about Jeff turning up drunk and failing classes, informed Lionel. Most parents I know would have been absolutely livid, but Lionel just decided to have 'a talk' with Jeff, which as a typical teen, he ignored. At this time Lionel claimed that Jeff was already 'too addicted' so it didn't work. I feel that this was a lie to try and cover for the fact that Lionel didn't actually try to help Jeff. Additionally, Joyce needed constant reassurance and praise, ego stroking if you will. As the family had moved due to Lionel's job, Joyce felt like she wasn't Lionel's soul priority so she decided to take a walk on a winter's night, lie down in the snow and all in a night dress! A lot of women read true crime, to learn what red flags in the behaviour of a man or woman to look out for, pay attention to especially when something feels off about them, something doesn't seem right, or their behaviour, attitude, demeanor doesn't match up with what they say, it's a red flag! The Unabomber" was Ted Kaczynski & he was a victim of the MK Ultra brutalizing psychological experiments programming/torture method of the CIA. I think that dahmer was a broken person I’m a rational physcologist but also I’m a Scorpio rising I can see through people and the eyes are the window to the soul he needed help and he wasn’t fully physcopathic because he knew he had to be punished

Mind Of Jeffrey Dahmer Criminal Psychologist Explains The Twisted Mind Of Jeffrey Dahmer

Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts everyone. And yes, the fact that we ask why and do not really know is separate to the spectrum of mental health and mental illness.Saying the illness isn’t a cause is the equivalent to saying nobody can trust a healthy person, you are saying even you are likely to do such catastrophic things by saying the illness isn’t the issue. His crimes, were sexually motivated, they were also motivated by Jeffrey Dahmer feeling extreme loneliness, isolation, he wanted to have friends, companionship, he wanted to be loved. Admittedly I have never read this kind of book before so I did not really know what to expect and (currently) have no other true crime book to compare it to.

Most interestingly, the researchers did not find differences in the brains of ALL violent criminals. They only found differences in those who committed homicides. So the brain of a murderer looks very different from that of a mugger. In the latest installment of Joe Berlinger’s true-crime anthology, Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, never-before-released audio footage provides an alarming look inside the mind of the serial killer who took the lives of 17 boys and young men across a span of 13 years. Through exhaustive interviews, detectives and defense attorneys learned everything about Dahmer and his unspeakable crimes. The docuseries premieres on Netflix Oct. 7. Jeffrey Dahmer A lot of people read true crime to learn what red flags to pay attention to in a the behaviour of men or women. Always trust your intuition, instincts. Why would grandmas take a liking to Dahmer- because he’s clean and tidy. Detailing how many pints of blood Dahmer must’ve spilt isn’t something to waste ink on unless it has something to bring to this crime story. How did he ever expect Jeff to fully open up about anything when Lionel stated the fact that Jeff being gay was repugnant?I totally agree, Linda and this is what I was getting at. I was bullied a lot, even into adulthood, I am 54. The book has a essay type of flow, constantly asking “is it enough?” Can we find the “waypoint” that turned him from a boy who’s emotional needs were neglected to a serial killer?
