Taking some time off from working on Berserk, Gigantomakhia was Miura's first new original work in 24 years. Those who know Miura primarily for his work on Berserk can be surprised to find that the tone of the series is quite lighthearted and idealistic, at least when compared to his long-running main work.

Flame war asides, I didn't find the intensity of Berserk in the first chapter of Gigantomakhia but still, it is a good start.
