About this deal

As I hinted at above, Genius Square doesn’t take long to set up, no matter if you are playing with someone or on your own. Technically with two players the game suggests you go head to head to see who can solve the puzzle first. You can play against the game itself, something I will go into more detail when we come to gameplay. However you play, the setup is the same. Each player takes one of the Genius Square Boards, the nine multicoloured geometric shapes, the six wooden pegs and the half dozen six sided dice. These dice will determine the layout of the puzzle board. As you can see from the comments above, my boys have genuine fun with The Genius Square. They are often battling it out between themselves, giving Mum and Dad a break as they amuse themselves away from the lure of electronics. As I said above, I’ve yet to play a game that has bested me. The blurb on the box says that each of the over 62,000 games has a solution. Sometimes more than one. Of all the games I’ve played, which must be over 100 by now, only once did all the players come up with exactly the same solution. And that was the game that took the longest to win, so we all agreed that was likely the only solution. Instead of looking at specific developmental areas that children might need help with, look at their interests and how those interests can be incorporated into the toy. This will ensure that play and learn go hand in hand, allowing learning toys to develop important skills in children during their play-time.

Genius Square Game – The Toy Room

As a fan of cooperative games over competitive, I bend the rules a little when I play. Rather than playing against each other, we play against the game with a round not ending until all players have solved the current puzzle. While we are limited to just three players, there is really no limit to how many players can actually take part as long as you have enough copies of the game. Two copies will allow four players to take part and, unless you are hosting a massive Genius Square games night, that should be suitable for most households. Final Thoughts When you're shopping educational toys for your child, the first thing to consider is the age of the toy. Educational toys should be age appropriate, otherwise they will not be helpful in developing skills or learning concepts. Genius Square is recommended to be played by 1-2 people and is suitable for children and adults of the ages 6 and older. Genius Square is manufactured by “the Happy Puzzle Company”. Although this isn’t noted on the box, we find it’s usually a very fast game and only takes a few minutes. What is inside the board game? For example, if a child wants to play with cars but can't yet reach them without climbing up on furniture or standing on boxes, then consider purchasing an attachment that allows them to play with cars without having to stand up or climb up things. The Genius Square can be a solitaire game, of course, but it sure is fun to play together, if only so you can pepper your kids with questions along the way. I think The Genius Square is that perfect breakfast table game, where kids can easily have five minutes of fun while chowing down on their cereal. I like having this sort of game lying around the house, just waiting to be played with... The game comes with two boards so that two players can race to see who completes the puzzle fastest. But you know me; I think that speed adds unnecessary stressandcan rob a game of its mathematical depth. So I recommend that you try a variation: One player tries to fill in the board, and then the second player tries to fill in the board in a way that is totally distinct. You can see two filled boards (mine and my son's) in this photo. I'm sure there are many more than two solutions to this puzzle! Where's the Math? What I like about the Genius Square is that it’s really easy to take with you anywhere and it’s such a fun and competitive game. When we were on vacation we would bring it to dinner every night and play while we waited or just bring it around the hotel to play because you can really bring it anywhere! We even played it in the airport while waiting for our flight! What would improve the game?

For example, if you are buying a toy for a toddler that is too advanced, they may get bored and turn to other activities while they wait for the toy to be played with. Thus, early learning toys are appropriate for toddlers, instead of too complex toys. Type of Products: Their products include jigsaws, board games, 3D puzzles, logic puzzles, and more. Genius Square Board Game How To Play The Genius Square Board Game

Great online store for board games. They always arrive perfectly and undamaged which is important to me. I don’t regularly pull it from the shelf to play with my wife, we’ve got better two player games. It is fun however, when the kids set it down in front of me, and I like the challenge of it.The real genius is The Genius Square itself. It boasts 62,208 possible different puzzles with at least one guaranteed solution to each and every one. That is some clever computer that worked out all the possible combinations and solutions. The Genius Square is a really good puzzle game for kids. It is fast to play and well worth owning for those with younger players in the house. The Genius Square has a possible 62,208 puzzles to complete, so you can be playing for years to come. And each of the 62,208 puzzles has at least one way to solve it – there will never be a puzzle that can’t be solved. The Genius Square is a logic puzzle game for 1-2 players, aged 6+. You can play solo or race against an opponent to fill the grid. The board itself is a 6x6 grid; the numbers along the top and letters on the left hand side corresponding to the combinations of letters and numbers on the dice. To start each game you roll all seven dice and using those results, place the seven wooden pegs onto the board. For example, if you rolled A1, A2, B4, C6, E1 and F1, then you would place them on those squares. It’s very important if playing with someone else to make sure your grids match each other, so take a second or two to do so. Once that’s done, you are ready to play. Gameplay
