There are many similar fragrances in Explorer style out there, so I’m gonna name the few which stood the test of time. I’m not the one for conspiracy theories, yet I’m 99% sure that Montblanc Explorer is revenge for Creed’s Original Santal. And yes, Montblanc Individuel came out before Original Santal. Since it had enough time now to get even more popular with the general public, I predict that Montblanc is expecting another best-selling year. Besides luxury fountain pens, they also make fragrances, watches, jewelry, and other variety of products. Their philosophy can be summed up into these four principles:

However, it’s bergamot as opposed to pineapple. I did get a whiff of that tropical fruitiness right at the beginning, but it faded as soon as it was noticed. Yet, I feel that it does manage to differentiate itself and has created its own identity. Generally speaking, people were saying it does smell like Creed Aventus, but it’s different enough to be its own thing.So, the only logical step was to create something that will help my fellow frag heads decide how should they spend their hard-earned money based on simple and effective psychology. So, the comments which I received were 100% positive, but somewhat rare and far between. Truth is, Aventus does even worse in this field than Explorer, believe it or not. That’s coming from personal experience. Dresscode and Occasions Box accompanies the bottle hand by hand, and the same leather-like aesthetic is present on the box as well. Well, each time I wear Explorer, it lasts from 20 to 24 hours. Period. Sillage is quite nice, and it always projects gentlemanly.

Now, it depends on you. Are you satisfied with nice or do you want something more creative or challenging? Although fans of Aventus will likely comment that Explorer doesn’t nearly match it in performance, it is still a fragrance that holds its own. The sillage provides a nice trail behind the wearer, but not too long neither. Yet, I had to know how close it was. Straight up, I’m gonna be honest with you. The first time I spayed Explorer, a big smile appeared on my face. Why? Because it captures the magic of the two perfume giants. Indeed, it’s a great professional fragrance that could also be worn casually, but I think that a professional setting would be a perfect fit for it.Creed Aventus – the original creation of this scent profile and the most popular niche fragrance of all time. If you want the real deal, go with Aventus. Jordi Fernandez is best known for 24 Gold, while Antoine Maisondieu has done Burberry’s London, but the most famous work is hands down Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million by Olivier Pescheux. Fragrance Theme While Montblanc Explorer can be considered as a little bit synthetic, it’s a clean fragrance with a summery character as is quite affordable too. It offers an impressive experience with a rich bouquet of notes. Montblanc Explorer is an unconventional fragrance that reveals a fresh Italian Bergamot, contrasted by a rich Vetiver from Haiti and an exclusive Patchouli from Indonesia. The composition has been expertly crafted by three Givaudan perfumers and is presented in an elongated bottle with a leather-like protective sheath printed with the Saffiano motif.
