About this deal

Mishti was my favorite character, and I’m sure many readers will feel that same way. She unselfishly put her own needs and happiness aside to appease everyone else in her life. I’ll be honest… She kind of broke my heart💔 Heartfelt anecdotes and well thought out responses filled with compassion, and emotional intelligence.

I don't doubt that this book will help a lot of people with ADHD, but for myself (diagnosed with ADHD) and my boyfriend (who wants to understand my diagnosis) this book was just a bit boring and repetitive. They share the strategies they have used to reduce shame, improve communication, and find happiness in their neurodivergent household. Mishti who has settled in Ireland with her psychiatrist husband (both of whom are dissatisfied with their arranged marriage) has fallen under Ciara's spell but again its not clear why (apart from one very early incident) Mishti continues to be friends with someone so clearly manipulative. I will probably also be lending my copy out, buying copies for friends/loved ones, or at least recommending this to them!Ciara has it all – a loving husband, well-behaved children and an immaculate home. But behind the filters, her reality is far from what it seems. I know that the author mentioned that it's her symptoms and everybody is different. At the same time I would appreciate some statistics and information regarding how many people actually struggle with things in such an extreme manner. The only sort of “negative” I would say is that the chapter on finances can be disheartening for those of us who do not have a partner that works in the banking industry or is good with finances. The chapter does give some good emotional support points, but it was the one chapter in which I could not connect with the idea of successfully conquering that area of my life.

Ciara is an excellent character though - self-centred, obsessed with social media, loves the power she wields in her social circle but its not entirely clear how she has ended up with this power. Her husband seems utterly superfluous to the plot, as do quite a few of the other characters. Although we have to follow each to find out who is responsible for Ciara's death.

A book full of different couple’s Split View with coping mechanisms laid out could have been interesting, but again, the SAME example used by both persons just gets boring.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this book! This author is highly talented and I cannot wait to read more of her books in the future! There isn't enough bleach to cleanse these lost souls. Talk about terrible people. Mishti is the only exception. Ciara and Lauren are just awful and the husbands? Oh boy, they're even worse. It's one of those books that you just can't look away from. It's a spin cycle of secrets that will have you feeling much better about your own life. Trust me. Rox and Rich- Thank you so so much for this. Not only for what it has provided me with, but also for the understanding and compassion it will bring to others. Lauren and Sean are the outliers to the neighborhood. Everyone has an opinion about them, none of which are good. Poor Laura desperately wants to fit in…but she just can’t help herself. Lauren is mostly happy, despite being outcast for her woo-woo beliefs and her kids who run naked, wild and free.Non-Fiction Books» Family & Health» Coping with / Advice about Personal, Social & Health Topics» Coping with / Advice about Illness & Specific Health Conditions After Ciara had taken the pills and wine, Sean showed up. She was going up to bed and he charged at her, without touching her, to get her to fall down the stairs. She wasn’t quite dead.

Disha Bose is an emerging voice that stands out in what's becoming a blessedly saturated genre, domestic suspense! If you're craving something along the lines of Desperate Housewives, or Big Little Lies, this one will definitely quench your thirst - I really enjoyed it!We also have Lauren who appears to have no friends (and again, despite her living in the same village it is not clear exactly why nobody likes her). Lauren is a target for Ciara's taunts so she's a prime suspect. DIRTY LAUNDRY is an unfiltered look into the chaos of real life with ADHD. It will transform your self-hatred into self-acceptance, with simple tips that actually work for your brain. It will also help to educate partners, parents and friends, to help them move from frustration to patience, understanding—and love. Finally, had to listen to the audiobook on 1.3x speed because they were narrating so slowly it was driving me mad. The crux of their ADHD_love_ videos highlights the day-to-day of a couple where one of them is an adult with ADHD (diagnosed late, as an adult) and feeling their way through it. Also they depict how a relationship works when one of you is neurotypical and the other one isn't. These are funny, true, and sometimes unexpectedly touching, and the book brings all of this to the table. If anything, it's even more nurturing. It's clear they've both done a lot of work in therapy (separately and probably together) and they pay it forward to people (like myself) who are fresh on their journey and still processing. I love the positive message of giving yourself/your ADHD loved one grace. I don't agree with some reviewers who said that ADHD is used to excuse behaviour- it is literally a disability. Behaviour is a choice but symptoms can't be helped and shaming people (or internalising shame) for ADHD related struggles only makes everyone's life harder.
