About this deal

Anyone who's planning on doing some serious cherry pitting will be well-served by this model. The Leifheit boasts an ability to pit up to 25 pounds of fruit per hour, and it has a large catch tray underneath to hold the pits as you go. Prepworks by Progressive by Progressive Cherry-It Cherry Pitter: Similar to the OXO multi-pitter, the tray-like pitter can handle up to four large or small cherries at a time—the tray is reversible for the different sizes—which is a great aspect. As I was testing it though, the pitted cherries didn't always release and sometimes bounced everywhere, leading to a mess. I feel you're better off with the OXO model if you want to pit more than one cherry at a time.

Cherries are my hands-down favorite fruit! I love almost everything about them. The thing that is keeping them from being absolutely perfect? Those pesky cherry pits! This cherry pitter is designed to be user-friendly. For example, it has a suction base that will securely attach to any non-porous surface. You will be left with a machine that stays put, no matter how vigorously you pit. However, you will not need to use a lot of pressure to get the job done. The plunger effortlessly removes pits, making it a good tool for people with limited mobility. Many people love to have only the most basic kitchen tools. However, a cherry pitter is much more than just a fancy gadget. It is an essential item if you need to remove pits from large quantities of cherries or olives. While many cherry pitters are made of materials that are considered better than plastic, we appreciate that this is BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and so easy to use and clean. And even though it isn't our favorite option for a kid-friendly pitter, it has a safe and straightfoward design suitable for little helpers. What about bulk cherry pitter machines? Honestly, I haven’t found a model that I love. If you use one that you recommend, let me know in the comments!

The capacity of the pitter you want will depend on how often and how many cherries you pit in a season. If you only pit enough cherries for a pie or cobbler once or twice a season, an individual single pitter will most likely be fine for you. It pits cherries slower, but it also takes up way less storage space. But if you own a cherry tree, you regularly make cherry preserves or chutney, or just love cherries a lot and know you’ll be pitting large batches of cherries every season, a multi-pitter will be worth the investment in money and kitchen storage space. Brian Krause from the United States is the official Guinness World Records holder for the longest spit of a cherry pit. In 2004 he competed in the International Cherry Pit-Spitting Championship and spit a cherry pit over 93 feet! This cherry destoner has a unique patented design and is a large, self-contained machine, measuring 8” x 4.5”. It does not have a handle like many other pitters do. Instead, the entire top of the machine closes on the cherries.

Tart Cherry Smoothie Bowls. Blend up your cherries into these Smoothie Bowls for a light summertime breakfast. The way the arms and blade work together ensure that cherries are pitted with as little meat removed as possible. As a result, you are left with unharmed, juicy fruit. Straw: Your standard plastic straw might not be up to the job due to the cherry’s firm flesh, but if you have reusable straws—metal or hard plastic—make use of them! Like you would with hulling a strawberry, push the straw up through the bottom of the cherry through the top. You’ll get rid of the pit and stem.

There's minimal effort needed to operate this cherry pitter, and it works nicely for cherries of all sizes. To use it, you can hold it in the air or place it on a surface; a feature other single pitters don't offer. OXO is known for its intuitively designed kitchen gadgets, and this cherry pitter is no exception. No cherry pitter is going to be 100% accurate. But some are much better than others. It depends on what your needs are and how detrimental a missed pit will be. Best of all, this cherry stoner is designed with the user in mind. It has an ergonomic handle that is comfortable and stable. In addition, it has arms to keep the cherries secure while you pit. This may be one of the best cherry pitters if you are looking for a long-lasting, reliable kitchen tool. It is lightweight and very accurate. Whether you enjoy baking fresh cherry pies, creating your own homemade jam or preparing Shirley Temples to share with a few friends, you’ll want to invest in a cherry pitter. This handy kitchen tool does all the hard work for you, while also significantly cutting down your food prep time.
