About this deal

Squads of Astra Militarum troopers mounted in Chimeras are sometimes referred to as Armoured Fist Squads. These squads lend speed and tactical flexibility to the often slow and rigid ranks of the Imperial Guard. The Lost and the Damned - The Lost and the Damned consists of Imperial Guard soldiers, Chaos Cultists and others that have turned against the Imperium and have either sided with the forces of Chaos or have became Renegades against Imperial rule. These Renegades and Traitors still use the Chimera as their armoured transport of choice. The Hellbore Heavy Mole is a super-large burrowing vehicle and is the largest of the tunnelling troop transports utilised by the Adeptus Mechanicus known collectively as "tunnellers" or "miners". It is far larger than both the Termite and the Mole, and like them utilises a phase-field generator to burrow deep underground with its massive drill, carrying many units of Imperial troops safely far below the surface of the earth, beneath enemy fortifications and formations. This allows the Hellbore to surface behind an enemy's position or the flanks of an enemy fortification at which point its troops disembark for close assault. This vehicle is equipped with Multi-Launchers and Heavy Bolters. Graia pattern - The Graia pattern also replaces the cargo compartment with a larger fuel cell but retains the standard manual turret and a crew of three. [3] Oblast Beast - The Chimera known as the Oblast Beast periodically devastates Kislev and has the body of a great bear with the heads of a falcon, a boar and an Ice Dragon. [6a]

The Bane Wolf uses a Chem Cannon. Bane Wolves are used when the complete eradication of the enemy is warranted, as they smother their targets in broiling clouds of noxious gas that dissolve organic material in moments. The victims' blood boils in their own veins and their flesh sloughs from one as the mixture of toxins do their horrific work [2a] before rendering even that down into a bubbling pool of rank, festering ooze. [4] The Chimera can fulfill additional roles and many basic variants of the standard vehicle exist. With their communication equipment and scanners Chimeras are suitable command vehicles, while those with Dozer Blades can clear terrain for heavier vehicles to move through or provide nighttime illumination from their Searchlights. [2a] While generally armed with a Multi-laser and Heavy Bolter, those fitted with a Heavy Flamer are popular when fighting in dense terrain such as jungles and forests; usually one in three Chimeras will be outfitted as a flame tank if other infantry close support vehicles, such as Demolishers, Thunderers and Hellhounds, are unavailable. Those equipped with Autocannons also fulfill the light anti-vehicle role, while Gryphonne IV makes a unique Chimera variant mounting twin-linked Heavy Bolters, particularly effective against dense infantry formations such as Ork mobs and Tyranid swarms. [3b] Chimeras have also been used by the Inquisition to transport Inquisitors and their stormtroopers, [4] Purity Seals affixed to the hulls to protect the vehicles' machine spirit and its passengers from daemonic possession. [1] Technical Information

Malcador Infernus - The Malcador Infernus is armed with an Inferno Cannon capable of engulfing the enemy in a storm of burning promethium. The Infernus is a powerful weapon against fortified enemy infantry.

Forces of the Inquisition - Fought using Chimeras as armoured transports during the Betalis III Campaign against the Eldar of Craftworld Mymeara

Some Chimedons were further upgraded with a Battle Cannon, but the stronger recoil of this weapon had the chance to seriously damage the vehicle itself upon firing the gun.

Now that you know how much tougher our vehicles will be in the new edition of Warhammer 40,000, you can start planning which units you’re going to stuff into them. Planetary Defence Forces - Many Planetary Defence Forces make use of Chimeras in the same way that the Imperial Guard uses them; many PDF units possess no heavy tanks and must rely solely on Chimeras for their armoured support. A codex is a comprehensive sourcebook specific to a faction or army in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Some scholars of the Old World have postulated that in times of magical dearth, Chimerae simply abandon the mortal plane altogether, to instead hunt prey through the rich and sorcerous fields of the Realm of Chaos. Others believe that Chimerae are not creatures of flesh and blood at all, but rather monsters called into being only when the Winds of Magic are at their most fulsome -- savage emissaries sent by the darkest of the Dark Gods. Regardless of where the truth lies, none can argue that when a Storm of Magic bursts, the tri-throated roars of hunting Chimerae are never far behind. [2a] While this variant is uncommon in the Astra Militarum, Planetary Defence Forces on Frontier Worlds may use these variants as they are less advanced and thus easier to manufacture for a limited colonial economy.Elysian Pattern - This Sentinel is armed with a Multi-melta which is highly effective against light armour and infantry or a Heavy Bolter for use against infantry. It has been modified to fit inside a Valkyrie gunship and is fitted with anti-grav chutes, so it can be air-dropped into combat alongside ground troops. While Imperial aircraft are often used to provide air support to the ground operations of the Imperial Guard and are listed here, they are in fact not Imperial Guard vehicles but are actually under the administrative control of the Imperial Navy, which controls all Imperial spacecraft and aircraft. All Imperial pilots are members of the Imperial Navy (aside from the very rare exception of the Phantine Air Corps), even when they pilot aircraft like the Valkyrie or Vulture which are engaged almost entirely in providing direct air support and transportation for Imperial Guard missions.
