Multicolor LED Alert – The alert LED with 7 colors, Blue, Red, Magenta, Green, Cyan, Yellow, or White, can be used with your Custom Alerts. Some of the bands covered by scanners are: Aircraft, Marine, Amateur Radio, Taxis, 2-way radios, Motor Sport, etc. The frequency range of different models can range from less than 1MHz to over 2GHz, however the majority of scanners are designed to cover the VHF & UHF bands and typically cover from around 60MHz to 500MHz.

Although here in Scotland we don't have the complicated systems such as provoice and simulcast like our fellow enthusiasts in America / Canada the radio will decode moderate to strong signals easily . I am not for or against it because i don't own one - just think that "Am I jumping If your not used to menu driven radios this can be daunting but my advice is to persevere , you will get used to these menus over time . I have a few IC&E systems loaded in my 996P2 and Monitor them. Other DMR is Ham radio which the most popular tower in in Bourne. I'm was asking because the SDS200 is a pretty expensive investment where for this area you can buy a 15X for dedicated Analog and or Another way to ensure top speeds is to make sure your frequencies are laid out ascending from lowest to highest in each system. That will help a lot . If you upgrade the firmware or reprogram the radio after the upgrade the DMR and ProVoice functions will remain

Start-up Configuration – You can program each of your Favorites Lists with a Startup Key (0-9) so that when you power up the scanner and press the key number, just those Favorites Lists assigned to the key will be enabled for scan. I hope to buy an SDS 100 soon so I can have a portable scanner as good as the SDS 200. It is important to decide what you want to listen to before buying a scanner - it is false economy to buy a cheaper one only to find later that it misses out some frequencies that you would like to listen to. Ideally make a list of all the frequencies you are likely to want to listen to and then see which of the scanners covers all of them.
