About this deal

for use in tropical climates. 2.) for use in temperate climates. 3.) for protection against cold and wet". I hope I was some help. A couple of years ago I painted the two Alpine British Tankers and I was happy with the way the colors came out. The idea that the winter version would be worn in summer or was even intended as such seems a little unlikely as anyone who has worn one would probably agree with. They are warm bits of kit! Lots of photos exist of the denim tank suit being worn pre and during the invasion. I can't say I've seen the oversuit in any photos dated before the autumn of 44. 43rd Recce received theirs in December, in the wartime papers of a 43rd veteran I have he states that A sqn were issued them on 7th December. Prior to that most men wore battledress with a greatcoat and sometimes a leather jerkin over that. The Korean traditional dress also evolved from a combination of Hanfu of the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220) and pao of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Tang Suit Rush in Modern Times

As an integral part of traditional Chinese culture, Tang suits are worn by overseas Chinese people during the Spring Festival each year, attracting many foreigners to wear them out of curiosity. The name "tanksuit" or "tank suit" (as well as "tank top") alludes to the "tank" or pool in which the wearer swims. [2]

The term maillot was inducted into the [ specify] English dictionary in 1928; it derived from the French phrase for swaddling clothes. In the French language, the word maillot means "shirt" and is used to distinguish leaders in the Tour de France. The modern French term for a swimsuit, maillot de bain, also makes use of the word.

These suits were issued to British Troops in the winter of 1944-45 to a variety of armoured units and feature heavily in photographs of the period. They were often referred to as 'Zoot Suits' at the time and in the post-war years as the 'Pixie Suit'. Whilst production carried on in the post-war period, this suit is a scarce wartime manufactured example. Typical traits of wartime suits are the brass 'D. O. T.' zippers which fasten the front and the chocolate brown buttons used to secure the chest flap behind these. The original brace straps are still present to the interior and have not been removed as is often found with these suits. The original waist belt is also present which again is often missing. The Tank Suit, Denim’ was introduced into the Army from 23 September 1944 (ACI 1278 of 1944). It replaced the former pattern of denim overalls and was designed to be worn over the drawers and shirt in summer and over Battle-Dress in winter or during cold weather conditions. The suit is typical of tank suits and features the original manufacturer's label in the right hand sleeve. It states the size as ‘Size No. 3’ which will fit up to a 36-38” chest and a 32” waist. The 1944 date is present as is the War Department broad arrow marking. The Western-style clothes and the Chinese attire were compassable at the turn of the 19th century and the 20th century, during which Hong Kong and Macau compatriots distinguished the Western toilette from the Chinese toilette according to the differences between the Western-style suit and the Tang suit.In colloquial Persian and Arabic, particularly in the Levant region, the term maillot (مايوه) is a generic term used to refer to a swimsuit for both men and women.
