True to her theme color, Sunny is by far the most cheerful and energetic. She's easily excitable and possesses a noteworthy love of all things cute or "kawaii" as she would put it. Though she can come off as high-strung and boisterous, Sunny simply has an expressive personality and a strong enthusiasm for the things she loves. She can be somewhat awkward in tense situations, but she's also highly sensitive to other people's emotions and will do what she can to alleviate the problem. Jade and Sunny, having completely different personalities, seem to get along pretty well. They may sometimes have different views but don't make that big of a deal about it. Despite barely even knowing each other, Amaya and Bella have a rather complicated relationship. Amaya first learns of her after meeting her runway group, learning that she is in fact her replacement. Amaya feels guilty about this, however Bella appears rather bitter towards her. They were later seen talking in " The Eclipse - Phase One, Part Two", suggesting that they have become friends. They were seen later interacting more in " The Big Day Off". Sunny was also the first to welcome Amaya, and overall was the friendliest towards her despite the awkward situation surrounding Bella's expulsion. She was the only one who really noticed and complimented Amaya. Their bond grew over time as they had to work together.

Like with Daria and Stella, she is one of Bella's new roommates. She gets along fast with her when Sheryl spills the tea on her new runway group. Sheryl later offered for Bella to join her and Gabriella's Radiant Week team which Bella accepted, together they won and got the opportunity to spend some time at Pacific Coast High. They're later seen cheering in the crowd along with Gabriella and Finn in " Rainbow Vision Finale: Part 2" and " Rainbow Vision Finale: Part 3". Ruby and Kia first meet when Ruby applies for a job at the Rainbow Union. Kia then shows her the ropes of the job, but Ruby has lots of trouble getting the hang of everything. This boils over when Ruby believes she's been fired, only to realize that she got the job and Kia has faith in her abilities. Sunny is first seen entering Rainbow High for the first time with her best friend, Violet. She meets The A's, who show them where their dorms are. She's then upset when she finds that Violet isn't in the same dorm room with her, realizing she lied to her. Thankfully, her new roommate Poppy was able to cheer her up by playing music on the way to class. She then meets Ms. Wright who shows her to her runway group and gives them their big assignment.

Sunny appears near the beginning of the episode where she is thrilled to hear that Amaya has a new crush on River. Despite Amaya's shyness towards it, all of her friends team up to try to get them together, including Sunny.
