Description

The Dark expression is a blend of Caribbean distillates from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Barbados aged in American oak casks. Instructions: Combine all the ingredients in your shaker with ice. Shake well and pour into your tiki mug with ice. Garnish it with a mint sprig, if desired. Production details are limited, as Soggy Dollar is a blender, not a distiller, and the actual origins of these rums are unknown.

It’s likely some of the rum in the bottle will come from Cruzan Distillery based at St Croix, US Virgin Isles. I’d also suggest maybe some Barbados and Trini rum is in there. Beyond that, I doubt there is any Jamaican or any kind of real Pot Still heavy rum or blend. It’s all just very column like. Light and a little sweet. A perfect summer drink, Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri, is made with rum, sugar, and lime juice–one of the best thirst-quencher while at the beach. Instructions: Shake all the ingredients except the nutmeg and the pineapple slice. Pour into your glass with ice and put nutmeg and the pineapple slice on top. This Bahama Mama features a combo of vibrant fruit flavors and smooth rum–ideal for drinking at the beach. The bar was forced to close in 2017 because of damage from Hurricane Irma. But, the legendary spot on Jost Van Dyke’s White Bay reopened the following year to continue serving up painkillers.Note: Make sure you have a pitcher on hand that is big enough to hold this entire batch. The batch comes to about 90 oz. A three quart container or bigger will hold it. Step 2: Fill a Cup with Ice

Soggy Dollar Old Dark (750 ML) - Handcrafted, aged and triple distilled with natural cane sugar molasses, vanilla and caramel aged in oak casks for a smooth rich flavour and deep golden colour. Whether in a Painkiller or simply drink and savour over ice you will be transported to this Virgin Islands paradise. Instructions: Pour all the ingredients into your large pitcher. Mash the strawberries slightly and stir to mix well. Pour into glasses over ice. The bar (which gets its name from the bills that would get “soggy” as travelers waded thorugh the water onto the beach from their boats) has become a Mecca of sorts for Caribbean aficionados, an unmissable stop on any sailing jaunt in the Virgin Islands, a place often serenaded by Kenny Chesney in his odes to the green-hilled islands of the northeastern Caribbean. Outside of the Caribbean, the Painkiller is not a very common drink to find in bars. Most people haven’t heard of it unless they’ve been to the Virgin Islands. In fact, whenever I tell people about the Painkillers we love so much, I often find myself clarifying that it is the Painkiller drink, so they don’t awkwardly assume I’m talking about pills. How to Make a Pusser’s Rum PainkillerPG-13 painkiller — Well, this one’s a non-alcoholic drink, but that doesn’t mean it’s only for kids alone. You could replace the alcohol with any light liquor, especially if you don’t prefer a strong drink. If you’re looking for something lighter, this one's for you. Finish off by grating fresh nutmeg on top. You can also use pre-grated nutmeg, although fresh will be more fragrant. Still, it’s a strong liquor, with high proof that has the potential to hit you hard, especially if you are not an experienced drinker. Considering that, when mixed with the juices and all the rum will hide well, you could easily be a few drinks in when you realize that and it might be too late. Hence, you might want to look for other alternatives. Other dark rums like Myer’s and Mount Gay will do a good job of replacing Pusser’s rum, and you might also want to consider Lemon Hart.
