About this deal

Place each dough ball onto the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 14-18 minutes or until very lightly browned, taking care not to overbake. I baked mine for 16 minutes, which seemed to be perfect in my oven. You can also make this step the day before and keep the banana in the fridge overnight. Chocolate Shell Bananas: I used 3 large bananas. Look for yellow bananas that are just ripe and sweet. Overripe bananas will be too mushy.

Flaky sea salt, optional: I love to add a little sprinkle of flaky sea salt for that extra something. Salt really brings out the flavor in chocolate. But skip it if you don’t have any. Once slightly cooled, pour your mixture into a silicone square large-sized ice cube tray and transfer to the freezer to set for a minimum of 1 hour or until completely firm. Then the caramel and nougat mixtures join forces! We mix them just a bit so each completed bite has dreamy swirls of both. Next, it’s time to roll!Seriously though--chocolate and candy are my two main vices, sweets-wise. Yall know I’m more of a savory girl, but I do love chocolate.

Looking to introduce kids to kitchen activities? Then you are at the right place. This is not only a fun treat to make with kids but an ideal way to encourage them to eat healthy food. Kids would love stuffing and coating dates with chocolate. Lightly squeeze the dates closed and place them on a wax or parchment paper lined plate or small tray and freeze for about 1-2 hours. Cashew butter: I used salted cashew butter in place of caramel here for simplicity but also because I feel like the flavors are really close. Now if you wanted to still have the caramel, I have a vegan caramel sauce recipe, and you could totally make that. But I was lazy and wanted to try this salted cashew butter and it was also super close. If you can’t have cashews, try the caramel or use any other nut or seed butter instead.Banana boats– as seen in my picture, cut the banana into rectangle shapes – keep leftovers in the freezer to add in a banana smoothie recipe later on. Then, top each banana bite and top with the spread and crushed peanut, and freeze them.

Transfer to the fridge for 20 minutes to chill and firm before enjoying. These bites will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Additions - if your nut or seed butter is creamy, you can sprinkle peanuts, nuts, seeds, or flaky salt on top. Medjool dates - a naturally sweet, dried fruit with a chewy texture and a caramel-like flavor. You can find them in the produce section of most grocery stores. Spoon about ½ - 1 teaspoon peanut butter into each pitted date, depending on the size of your dates.

I love that you can make as many or as few as you’d like. I try to always keep the ingredients on hand.

Coconut oil (optional) - gives the melted chocolate a silkier texture and also helps the chocolate harden in the freezer faster, but is completely optional. Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a bowl and microwave 45 seconds – stirring every 20 seconds – until melted. Measure ingredients approximately: I use just regular tablespoon to drizzle all ingredients. This recipe would be very hard to do with proper measuring spoons. It’s OK to eat more of wholesome ingredients. chopped/crushed peanuts – an extra boost of peanut flavor and some crunch for texture! Try using a different nut if you have a peanut allergy to add some crunch. When all the banana pieces have been covered with melted chocolate, freeze the bananas to set the chocolate shell.
