Filed Under: Games for two players, Toy Review Tagged With: game review, ninja, review, slap ninja, toy review, Two player game Vintage MB Games – Super 3 As an exhausted mom to 3 beautiful boys aged 5-11, Keep Up With the Jones Family began as a family blog and turned into my passion.

Childhood is gone in the blink of an eye [except the sleepless nights part, that lasts for decades I think] and I wanted to enjoy every moment I could and make it as fun as possible. Slap Ninja comes in a front open cardboard box attached at the with a couple plastic style ties, easily cut with sissors, a small plastic ties at the bottom. The game centres around a complicated looking plastic board and lots of coloured plastic pegs – hence the reason I’m guessing a plastics company got involved originally.

Superpuzzle is something that you an either play on your own, or against another player. The game contains two sets of twenty four pieces (one set red and one green) with each set having 12 each of two different shapes – a rectangle, and what could be described as a rectangle with a corner cut off! You can still buy new versions of the original Master Mind from toy shops and online. Some versions use the name Master Mind (or sometimes MasterMind) whilst others have very similar names for what is effectively the same game. What is obvious though is the absence of Invicta’s strong iconic brand. With the white pegs though there is no doubt that you don’t tell them which colours are the right ones, but just in the wrong position. Instead you just tell them how many of them there are. However it was not just the kids that loved playing Slap Ninja. My husband couldn’t wait to get his hands on the game to prove himself as the Master Ninja. If they kids enjoyed zapping each other they definatley loved zapping Daddy more.

We had a great laugh playing all together and they really liked how noisy and boisterous the game (and the subsequent zapping) got. It is also nice that they have a game that they can play with just the two of them without anyone else having to get involved to adjudicate or explain rules. It’s a really great for all the family, and because the rules are simple and there are no pieces to remember and/or lose, it cuts down on fuss and upset. The Slap Ninja controller is modelled after a karate bench. On top there are 3 led lights at either end. One of the “bench legs” is plain, the other has a small button on it and a trigger. Above this “bench leg” is a red coin and a giant ninja hand. TheSlap Ninja game is aimed at children aged 4 and up. I think that this is pretty accurate. Not least because the trigger to control the giant hand takes some effort to squeeze. We read what the winning criteria where before we started playing and it all sounded quite straightforward. Then we started playing… Confusion

How to play

But, before we move on to deluxe Master Mind, let’s start with the original game. The History of Master Mind Ninjas were covert agents active in feudal Japan, conducting all kinds of shady and secretive activities, often under the darkness of night. They used samurai swords, shurikens, and other deadly weapons to swiftly and silently take down their targets. You can master the art of stealth that was once the hallmark of these mysterious night fighters in these online ninja games! Popular Ninja Games

What Did The Kids Think Of The Slap Ninja Game With the strapline “A second to learn… a lifetime to master” I can happily confirm that Slap Ninja is an incredibly easy game to learn to play. Mastering it however is a totally different story.Filed Under: Games for two players, Spears Games, Vintage Games Tagged With: spears games, Superpuzzle, vintage games Vintage MB Games – Super 3 Following on from the success of original Master Mind, deluxe Master Mind extends the game so that there are now five holes and eight colours. This means up to 32,000 permutations. Yikes. Now the aim of the game is to take either three squares in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) or a total of five squares. To win a square you have to either have three pegs in a row, or a total of five pegs. To be able to place a peg in a hole you have to roll the dice. If you roll a number from 3 to 6 or 8 to 11 you can either place your peg in a hole with that number, or in any hole other than the central one of the square with that number. Described as being a game of cunning and logic, Master Mind is all about one player setting a code (made up from four coloured pegs) and their opposition trying to work out what it is. Each time they make an attempt to guess, the code maker scores their efforts to give them hints about what they should try next. With two players it can either be that they both try the same puzzle with the fastest to do so being the winner, or they can work independantly.
