Description

Pura’s high-performance nappies are approved by dermatologists to be gentle on your baby’s skin. They are enhanced with soft organic cotton and contain 0% chlorine, perfumes and allergens.

This best-selling nappy contains soft and fluffy fibres derived from wood pulp which is highly absorbent. It is made from pH sensitive materials and has a wetness indicator strip that makes your life easier by letting you know when your little one needs a change. With wide, stretchy tapes and flexible cuffs that comfortably wrap around your baby’s leg, the Active Fit ensures no leaks, superior protection and ultimate comfort no matter how much your baby moves around. We set out to create an environmentally-friendly nappy that doesn’t compromise on nappy performance, bottom comfort or value for money. The result is the happiest nappy all-round. The debate is a fierce one in some circles and can cause anxiety and guilt among the more eco-leaning parents. In 2005, there was uproar when the UK government published research claiming “it was no more environmentally friendly to use reusable nappies than disposables”. A similar report three years later reversed these claims. Then a report found that, yes, biodegradable nappies do degrade, it can take up to 50 years and such products have been found to produce more methane, which is bad for the environment. How do you get the perfect fit to prevent leaks? I didn’t want to be unfair to Pura, so I decided to test the nappies throughout a day and night period for this review. This would give me a better understanding of how well they dealt with wet and dirty deposits, as well as during different times of the day.Brands may slightly differ when it comes to size and weights but most will follow the size guide below:

If you love the convenience of disposable nappies but want to minimise your impact on the planet, Pura’s range will make you nappy happy! Here’s what Pura has to say: “We believe being eco-friendly is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. And that we should all be able to look after our planet, simply by looking after our families. We put babies first, with anti-allergy, organic ingredients and sustainable, biodegradable materials. So you’re protecting their skin and protecting their future too. We’re here to empower everyone to protect the future of the planet today, with eco-friendly products that are affordable and accessible for all”The cost of nappies can vary depending on the brand you choose. Supermarket own-label nappies are generally cheaper than big brands such as Pampers.

It’s easy to tell with bigger kids, but it’s not always so obvious with tiny babies. This is why many of the best nappies for newborns have a yellow line down the front of the nappy that will turn blue when the baby wees. It doesn’t change colour for poos, however, unless the baby has urinated at the same time. As some nappies are bulky to begin with, this wetness indicator can let you know when the baby has peed without having to strip him or her off. The nappies are super flexible around the waist and sport an elastic adjustment system that adapts to the size of your toddler for a more comfortable fit. This is key in helping your child learn how to put their underwear on and take them off by themselves. They also have cute Disney designs that appeal to children and can encourage them to engage with the potty-training process. These soft and breathable pull-up nappies are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested. They’re easy to remove for changing and are a convenient option to ensure your child remains comfortable and dry as they reach their next big milestone. While most disposable nappies are recyclable, the UK doesn’t currently have the facilities to process them in the right way. circulate for maximum dryness, breathability and comfort. Pura’s size 1 and 2 nappies also contain a handy wetness indicator strip.

Nappies & Pants

Spending more doesn’t guarantee a better nappy either. In fact, our nappy survey results have uncovered a top-rated brand that offers some of the cheapest nappies around, as well as expensive brands that left parents dissatisfied. Best brand: 81% This brand impressed in all areas, but parents were particularly pleased with the comfort and value for money of this brands' nappies.

So relax knowing that you're striking the best possible balance between a happy planet and a happy baby. As for the perfect nappy? We're working on it. Each nappy can take hundreds of years to naturally degrade, so the sheer number of disposable nappies thrown away presents serious problems to the environment. This is particularly true when you consider that each baby could use more than 5,000 nappies before they are fully potty trained. When it comes to baby products, marrying ethics, value and effectiveness can be a difficult task, especially when it comes to disposable nappies. I tested the Pura range and this is what I found. Pura partners with the Woodland Trust, the NHS, the NSPCC, the Hygiene Bank and Nappicycle. Made in the UK.

Pura Wipes

What did you like most about Pura’s nappies? I loved the fact that they were unscented and contained plant based fibres. My daughters nappy rash improved dramatically by using these nappies. I love that she was itchy wearing a nappy, was more comfortable and they didn't leak once. Asda's Little Angels nappies were the most expensive on average which is different to last year, when it was Baby Ocado. Disposable nappies can cost anything from 5p to more than 20p each, depending on which brand you choose. For each nappy brand we asked parents to rate five key features: absorbency, comfort, ease of use, fit and value for money. If you are a first time parent, finding the right newborn nappy for your new addition can be daunting. Pura offers a premium nappy at an affordable price without skimping on quality. You will be going through a lot of nappies in those first few weeks, which could work out to be quite expensive, but these premium nappies cost a reasonable 12p per nappy and are one of the best we’ve come across thanks to their velvety soft and hypoallergenic organic cotton material.
