About this deal

Cramming not only the sounds of those units, but also a full-colour screen into a unit the size of the HX Stomp is certainly impressive and no mean feat. With MIDI in and out, there’s clearly been some consideration for those that want to incorporate the HX Stomp into a rig controlled by a pedal switcher. In that context, it’s easy to see the attraction. I hope you find this TC Electronic Impulse IR Loader review honest and insightful! Thanks for visiting my blog and supporting me so far! I will hopefully see you in the next review here!

By default, the footswitch acts as a classic on/off switch. But if you press and hold the footswitch, it changes to A/B mode in which you can assign two presets. Simply long press the footswitch, then find the preset you want to assign to preset A, press the right button and then choose the preset for B then simply press the footswitch again to finalise the setup. TC Electronic did not hesitate to cooperate with one of the leading guitar speaker manufacturers, Celestion and already included their legendary IRs in the TC IR Loader pedal. It’s worth mentioning at this point that the term ‘impulse response’ is not exclusively used to refer to guitar amps and music production. The scientific explanation is, broadly-speaking, the measurement of an output reacting to a brief input signal (the impulse). When choosing a pedal amp, it’s important to know what you’re looking for. Do you need something to create volume, tone, or both? That will decide whether you need a pedal that acts as a preamp or power amp. A preamp is the tonal shaping stage of any amplifier, where many of the sonic characteristics are added and tweaked, and you will often find a gain and sculpture (EQ) stage. With a massive 300 effects and over 50 amp sims built-in - plus loads more to be added via firmware updates - HeadRush has painstakingly modeled pretty much any stompbox and amplifier you can think of. There’s some serious depth on offer here and the ability to create your own ‘scenes’ essentially making it work like a multi-switcher, makes it a great choice for the gigging guitarist.

Did we really need a custom extension for IR rather than wave files? I don’t think so, not sure how I can export these .uli files and use them somewhere else. In theory, I should be able to do that as I paid for them, right? But not sure if these work in a standard IR loader plugin. Conclusion First and foremost, we are guitarists, and we want other players to find the right product for them. So we take into careful consideration everything from budget to feature set, ease of use and durability to come up with a list of what we can safely say are the best pedal amps on the market right now. For something containing a wide range of classic amp/cabinet combos (eight cabinets, eight microphones and three power amp tube simulations), the NUX Solid Studio IR & Power Amp Simulator is actually simple to use. NUX has really tried to cram as much into this box as possible, leading it to look complex and sophisticated. That said, you should find it fairly straightforward once you get your head around the layout. When TC Electronic released the original PolyTune pedal in 2010, they revolutionised the way we tuned our guitars and basses. Fast forward to 2022and they have done it again with the Impulse IR Loader!Featuring25 built-in IRs, 12 official Celestion cab models and 99 IR slots, the Impulse IR Loadermakes the process of working with impulse response files effortless. Simply drag and drop your favouriteIRs over USB or use the dedicated IR organizer for PC and MAC.The Impulse IR Loader will take care of the rest and ensure you sound like the best! This is your main reference when moving among Tone Models, presets, editing parameters and browsing inside menus.

Soundwise, it would not make sense to comment as it is supposed to sound like the IR that you load into. But is this really the case? Impulse Responses are useful because they allow you to try out a huge array of guitar sounds that you wouldn’t normally have access to. However with a multi-effects unit, you’ve got less chance of failure due to bad patch cables or faulty pedalboard power supplies, less to carry around, and they’re usually cheaper when you take into account the cost of some individual pedals.Line 6 in 1996 launched an audio plugin for Pro Tools called Amp Farm with dozens of (digital) emulations of amps and cabs. Soon after (in year 1998), the company debuted its first hardware product that embedded that software in a roundish red box called Pod. That day, the world could almost hear the jaws of the community of tone seekers drop in unison: that new effect was destined to widen the sonic palette of every single electric guitarist in the world (and, soon enough, of every bass player as well). Of course, a pedal amp has to sound good, and the Iridium does a great job of modelling some classic amps and cabs. With amp settings Round, Chime and Punch you can convincingly replicate Fender Deluxe, Vox AC30 and Marshall Super Lead amplifiers. The nine speaker cabinet pairings, meanwhile, are not only realistic but highly-responsive – something many of its simulator/emulator peers have struggled with. Furthermore, you can upload your own impulse responses (IR) with the Strymon software. In my opinion, having a limited IR length of up to 20ms is not ideal as one can access countless excellent IRs, carefully captured and provided that are 200ms in length. Reviewing the Chug Pedal, a new high-gain preamp pedal from Ola Englund’s Solar Guitars, is a bit like reviewing a hammer. There might be some nuance in the carve of the handle and the weight of the head: but hit a nail with it, and it’s either going to do the thing it’s designed to do, or it’s not. To torture this metaphor a little further, there’s also no point in seeing how well it turns a screw, or makes an omelette. NEW TC Electronic Impulse IR Loader - The Easiest IR Loader to Use?! The NEW TC Electronic Impulse is TC Electronics' first IR Loader! Featuring 25 Built-in IR, 12 Official Celestion Cab Models & 99 IR Slots, it’s a Cab Sim and IR Loader, without the complexity of working with impulse response files. | https://tinyurl.com/y5bguua8

If you are one of my regular visitors, you are probably aware of the gear I’m featuring in here. For the IR loader, I have been using my ENGL Cabloader for almost 2 years now without any issues. However, using the Cabloader has made me realise some design flaws in my use case scenario. FEATURES True bypass, standard 9V power supply (100mA minimum), colour-changing LED indicating noise-gate activity I want to have an IR pedal that offers the maximum number of external IR slots and allows at least 200ms IR length. TC Electronic Impulse IR LoaderFriedman haven’t just given you an authentic preamp, they have gone one step further to give you a hybrid pedal with digital impulse response cabinets and power amp simulations. You have the ability to plug in a play whether you’re in the studio, at home with headphones, or into a speaker interface without the need for a cabinet. In this TC Electronic Impulse IR Loader review, I will provide the reasons why I have switched from ENGL Cabloader to TC Electronic Impulse, all the details you need with this awesome impulse response loader and also a demo video along with product photos and manual as well.
