Clean other parts of the Nespresso machine — This is a good time to clean the capsule container and drip tray and wipe down the machine. Pour your descaling solution in according to the manufacturer's instructions. Vinegar and water may also be used if the owner's manual for your machine says it will not cause harm. Next, place an extra-large cup or mug underneath the machine's spout. Hold down both buttons on the top of the machine for three seconds. The Nespresso machine will then enter a descaling cycle. This will take a few minutes.

Get started by removing the water tank and emptying its contents. Submerge the water tank in warm soapy water and give it a good clean using a cloth. Rinse it with clean water and put it to one side. Move onto the cup holder and remove it so that you can wash it in soapy water. Next, remove all other washable parts such as the capsule holder and the drip tray before rinsing them, drying with a cloth, and returning them to the machine. First of all, you will usually be able to save a lot of money because they are cheaper than the original pods. You also have the opportunity to try many different flavours from different coffee producers and find your own favourite.A general recommendation is to descale a coffee machine every three months or after every used 300 pods. If you notice a difference in coffee taste or that the coffee is running slower than usual don’t wait three months but descale as soon as you can. Tips for cleaning your coffee maker Nespresso® coffee machines collect a fair amount of oils, tannins and granules build-up inside the brewing chamber of the coffee machine that you cannot get rid of with conventional cleaning methods, not even by descaling your machine. If you are looking for a coffee with an intense and sweet taste, choose dark-roasted Arabica beans. If, on the other hand, you prefer coffee with a bit of acidity, a blend of lightly roasted Arabica and Robusta beans is the right choice for you.

In addition to regular descaling, emptying the water tank when the machine is not in use is also recommended. The water tank must also be cleaned regularly to ensure only fresh water is used to make coffee.Descaling a Nespresso machine is a deep cleaning of the inside of the machine. Water has minerals that pass through your coffee machine, which build up over time. If you let the limescale build up over a long time period, it can prevent the machine from reaching the optimal temperature, and your device can stop working altogether. Moreover, you can have stale or sour coffee.
