About this deal

Over the last few weeks, we’ve shown off some incredible miniatures as part of the New Model Monday series, including the fabulous Rat Prince and the formidably embiggened Be’lakor . Now it’s time to answer the prayers of Necromunda fans with a first look at the new Redemptionists. Choke Gas Grenades [Word-Keeper, Redemptor Priest, Firebrand, Deacon]: Interesting, but really too expensive to be worth it. Rating: D

I'd love your help community. I probably have enough there to build a couple gangs, but I think thats the problem. Too many options, don't know where to go. Piety Skills were introduced in House of Faith. They’re mostly pretty good! This is great, as Cawdor desperately needed access to quality skills. Where the Redemptor Priest really stands out is their ability to take any and all of the cool new Redemptionist weapons. Unlike their Cawdor comrades, Redemptionists tend to be armed to the teeth with some seriously excellent and well-made weapons, but more on that in a bit! All in all, the Redemptor Priest fills the same niche as the Word-Keeper, but can end up being an even more terrifying close combat monster. If you want your Leader to be sawing heretics in half, then look no further than the Redemptor Priest!Cawdor Polearm/Autogun [Word-Keeper, Firebrand, Cawdor Brethren]: The first of the Cawdor-specific “spear + gun = fun” weapons, the Polearm/Autogun is like the little brother to the venerable blunderpole. It definitely has good qualities, but if you’re gonna spend the cheddar to get one, why not spend the 20 more credits to get the better version? If you want range, spend 10 fewer credits on the Reclaimed Autogun. Rating: C+ When numerous Redemptionist cult members come together without the leadership of a religious figure such as a Redemptor priest, a fanatical mob can form. A Mob is when many Redemptionists come together without the leadership of a priest or maybe without any religious guidance at all. Thus a "mob" is generally an incensed rabble of poor citizens who decide to take action against the first group of perceived sinners they can find. Here’s how it works: at the end of each turn, roll a d6 for each friendly Cawdor ganger who’s not Seriously Injured or Broken and is on the board. Any results of 5+ are moved to the faith dice pool, where they can be used to invoke an Article of Faith. Each Article of Faith is invoked at the start of the fighter’s activation, and has a target value. The controlling player chooses how many faith dice to roll, and if the target value is met or exceeded, the Article of Faith is invoked. Faith dice can carry over from round to round, but faith dice that exceed the number of friendly Cawdor gangers that are on the board and not Seriously Injured or Broken are discarded at the end of the next turn. Adepta Sororitas players from 40k will recognize this system. Do not suffer the heretic for they have heard the Emperor’s truth and have heeded it not. Force them to penance and then to death.

Chain Glaive [Word-Keeper, Firebrand]: If you’re making a melee Word-Keeper or (Emperor forbid) Firebrand, this is probably the best weapon for the job. It hits hard, is Versatile, and does decent damage. Can’t go wrong. Rating: B Any time GW makes terrain for Necromunda it is a good day. It also lets us know that the game is being supported well! Highlights of the kit have to be the random exotic weapons and the MUNG VASE. The rest of the sprues have very cool components; most are integral to how the kits are intended to be built, but also some that could be used anywhere to add new details. Dylan is very excited that he didn’t finish his own trading post that he started building earlier this year. Now he has a source for even more grimdark bits and bobs! In ConclusionHouse Cawdor uses the unshakable faith of its members to enact minor miracles on the battlefield. Sisters of Battle players will be somewhat familiar with this system. During the End Phase of each round, including the 1st, the Cawdor player rolls a dice for each friendly Cawdor fighter on the board who isn’t Seriously Injured. Any 5’s and 6’s are then added to the Faith Dice pool. It is the Redemptor priest who is greeted with rapture by the Redemptionist cult members and who commands their clandestine help. Only the words of a Redemptor priest can fire the fury in the hearts of Humanity or save unbelievers from their sinful existence. Although ostensibly pro-Imperial, such militant factions can often pose more of a threat to the Emperor's peace than the Heretics they seek to destroy. Their mob mentality and ability to rouse a populace into a frenzied witch hunt, blinded by its all-consuming need for the guilty and blasphemous to be cleansed, can cause serious problems to any planetary government, upsetting the precarious balance of power which allows a world to continue to exist in a galaxy that contains a thousand and one threats. Recommended equipment: Grenade launcher, shotgun, eviscerator, chainaxe, mesh armor. If you’ve got extra cash, give them a cherub servitor or two to help keep them alive! A Redemptionist cult sends units known as "crusades" that are comprised of their most dedicated and fanatical brethren to purge sinners with the holy fires of battle. A crusade is led by a Redemptor priest who has the blessings of the cult's council or the hierarchy of the local branch of the Ministorum and is supplied with weapons and followers.

The following information is not to be regarded as officially sanctioned and/ or is not written from an in-universe point of view. A detailed explanation of the term "Trivia" as used in the Lexicanum can be found here. No stat changes from Gangs of the Underhive (GotU from now on). 5-credit decrease in price, but the old price included flak armor, which is worth 10 credits, hence the 5-credit increase in functional price. Brawn, Combat, and Leadership are the Word-Keeper’s primary skills, and Ferocity, Shooting, and the new skill category Piety round out the secondaries. Acts of Faith: House Cawdor’s special gang ability is one of the best and most fun on the books. They passively generate faith dice that can be rolled for in-game miracles. This ability costs no credits and can be used in any battle. It is a major reason why post- House of Faith Cawdor gangs are so rightly feared.A Crusade is a gathering led by a religious figurehead, thus often has a more focused direction than a mob. However, some groups actively encourage these fanatics, wielding them invisibly as an army of malcontents, in lieu of fielding conventional military forces. The Inquisition, for example, could direct the violent faith of a redemption cult to destroy enemies. The Arch Zealot of the Redemption — A famed and successful exponent of the Redemption on Necromunda. [3] The Cult of the Redemption is an extreme religious sect that worships the God-Emperor of Mankind. It originated on the Hive World of Necromunda, but similar cults can be found throughout the Imperium. Redemption belief is based on the Imperial Creed, which holds that mankind is ruled and guided by the Emperor. While the Imperial Creed has definite militant overtones, the Redemption has taken it one stage further. Hand Flamer [Word-Keeper, Redemptor Priest, Firebrand, Deacon, Cawdor Brethren, Redemptionist Brethren]: Sorry to continue to beat this drum, but in the world of the blunderpole, any other template weapon is hot garbage. More strength in the flame hit is alright, but it doesn’t trigger Blaze any more often than anything else. Rating: C-
