Description

Front and rear double wishbone suspension adopts the proven OPTIMA design. Similar front-rear geometry ensures handling stability at all speed ranges. Impact-resistant nylon lower arm combines with metal rod upper arm to enable camber adjustment. Upgrade with optional titanium adjust rod 38mm (No.92413) for both front and rear. Optimized geometry with aluminum steering link and metal bushings in combination with the servo saver incorporating aluminum tube and metal spring design used in current racing buggies, delivers stable and precise steering feel. Upgrade with optional ball bearings and titanium adjust rod 50mm (No.92416). Gunmetal anodized aluminum motor guard is laser-printed with the Kyosho 60th anniversary logo, which is exclusive to the special limited-edition model. This design was so successful that Associated kept it in production for twelve years, making running changes and improvements along the way. This RC10 is a hodgepodge of leftover parts; ten or twelve years ago, I bought two large lots of broken and used RC10s, about ten cars in total, along with boxes of parts. I restored and sold nearly all of them, and built myself three examples using the leftovers, because I don’t really care about originality; I just want to drive them. The next step was trimming the body and painting the driver in orange from the outside. The Helmet looked too plastic like, due to the inside paint job and I have painted it a second time from the outside.

The motor is a fully rebuild Trinity Horsepower 1987 World Champions with 13x2 turns and amazing 38.000rpm. Optimized geometry with aluminum steering link and metal bushings in combination with the servo saver incorporating aluminum pipe and metal spring design used in current racing buggies, delivers stable and precise steering feel. Upgrade with optional ball bearings and titanium adjust rod 50mm (No.92416). Gear module has been changed to 48-pitch from the original model’s 8-pitch to deliver reduced drive loss. In addition to the newly designed 46 nylon 57T 1st gear, all other gears are upgraded to the sintered metal gears from the OPTIMA. Upgrade with optional diff OTW101 to improve driving feel. I fully agree, and as you mention the RC10 versus the (Turbo) Scorpion, I'd like to add that a Scorpion actually won the (rather inofficial) ROAR World Championship against RC10 prototypes/preproduction carss at the Anaheim Convention Center in 1984. The Scorpion was admittedly very heavily modified with aftermarket parts, if I remember correctly, with 1/8 scale Kyosho dampers, Holiday Buggy rear tires on CRP aluminum wheels and a lot of other CRP parts.

Plan is to use Kyosho's Le Mans 240S 15.5T 4WD brushless motor and Kyosho's 60 amp ESC, a combo I am already using in a re-release Javelin and a Turbo Scorpion. The Turbo Scorpion has a top speed of over 37mph (60km/h) on 3S Lipo. In wet weather on 2S, it provides a top speed of about 25mph (40km/h). Both re-release buggies are fitted with front and rear sway bars, providing improved cornering. Equipped with +2mm offset rear wheel hub. Wide tread setting is available when combined with the included 1mm spacers. Polycarbonate rear wing and side plates have been recreated as per the original JJ specifications. The large side plates deliver improved stability to fully recreate the style and drive feeling of the original.

i do not or will not race the Ultima or my Optima just to go out and play a little bit the motors I have are brushed motors and are old but still work they have all been rebuilt many times! From what i have read between brushed and brushless the brushless motors I'm taking it for a spin on the super flat factory floor tomorrow (when our production has gone home) and upload a video later

Body from the Tomahawk is included, which is as per the World Champion machine. Original as well as commemorative decals are also included. These are the classic Kyosho electric buggies originally designed by Akira Kogawa according to what I could find online (years may be wrong): Gearbox is equipped with slipper clutch to protect the gearbox and drive system from sudden load changes such as jump landings. Easy to adjust and adaptable to various racing conditions. Upgrade with optional slipper pad (SCW021 HD) for compatibility with higher power and hard driving. Special carbon main chassis with skid angle in the front! New updates for a screw fixture battery holder and servo mount. This kv motor thing is kind of stumping me!! I like good old USA RPM"s you know like the 427 Chevy Rat Motors

Then after an hour of dry time, two layers of white and after another hour two layers of bright silverUnassembled chassis kit includes wheels and tires for front and rear, unpainted body, and rear wing. The Dirt Master is basically an RB5 from a geometry POV. So this makes a close equivalent to the RC10B4 from Associated or a TRF201.

The car was driven by the Norwegian Eivind Loyd Pettersen, at the time the owner of the Norwegian Serpent, Basilisk, Tomo, CRP, Thorpe, Mirage, JG and Associated distributor. Jay Halsey came in a very close second with his RC10. So though the Scorpion was outdated at the time the RC10 was released, it still had a chance in the hands of talented mechanics and drivers for some time. By far the strongest and fastest brushed motor in my collection. I'm waiting for a LeMans 240SB and a LeMans 480T from Japan but for now this is the powertrain.I have two 30 plus year old Kyosho RC cars one is an Optima that was a chain drive that has been swapped over to a belt drive, and a Ultima that has a graphite chassis with a front red aluminum nose piece that the front steering is screwed onto. From what I can see, the Ultima (far from being my favorite in the Legendary series) is having some common elements with the Optima chassis class... And this probably also one of the reasons I didn't put it on my list of must have: when I was teenager, I dreamed about the Turbo Scorpion and about Optima/Javelin. I never dreamt about the Ultima, probably because there was the Optima... Soft front and rear tires are included for racing performance. Inner sponges are also built into the front tires and deliver powerful grip and control.
