About this deal

Good battery life for every day situations. Isn’t going to be great for gaming demands (but then this isn’t designed for that).

You can’t easily boot from the USB drive and although you can tell Windows 10 to install new software and stuff to this drive it all feels a bit disjointed.

Display - Poorly calibrated TN panel

Lithium Polymer battery with up to 6 hours battery life. I’ve found the battery life to be quite good though this is going to depend on what you’re doing with it. If the power adapter works for a little while but then turns off, there may be interference with the outlet. Unplug the power adapter for about 30 seconds and then try again. [1] X Research source You seem to have had a lot of trouble with reestablishing drivers after the hardware change. So long as the original set up is still available on the eemc it is probably possible to make a disk image from it. Procedures all exactly the same as for replacing any conventional drive with an SSD.

In regards to the fn keys, I’m pretty sure for my keyboard config that none of them do control the WiFi but I guess this point is moot since there is no WiFi at all. The GeoFlex 140 has one advantage over many more powerful laptops: It has a very low power consumption. The GeoFlex 140 can be used without problems in everyday use and it sometimes consumes only half of what a laptop with Core i5 or Ryzen 5 needs. So does a powerful laptop make sense for every user? Micro HDMI connector to enable you to hook up to a bigger screen, extend your Windows desktop or hook up a projector for meetings etc. x USB2.0 connected SDCard reader. Don’t use this for regular storage though, it’s too slow. But, it does allow you to get photos off your digital camera quite well. Watching Netflix on a train or playing Minecraft are equally well handled and for the money I really think you actually just can’t beat this little box.Incredibly portable – which was my main reason for purchasing. Very thin and lightweight and doesn’t take up much space at all. Great if you’re going on holiday but need a full blown Windows experience to manage things while you’re away. P.P.S. If you’re a bit more adventurous, you can upgrade the storage space on the Geo Flex 2 in 1 – instructions are available in this article. Inserting the device is extremely fiddly. Take care not to touch any of the components on the board. Line the card up with the port and gently push the device into the port. If you have everything lined up correctly the device shouldn’t take too much to push it in. I had cause some time ago to write to GeoFlex and tell them that I’d had to re-install Windows from scratch (in this case I had destroyed my Windows partitions completely and installed Neverware’s Cloud Ready Chromium OS).

Curry’s PC World are notoriously bad for providing support, although I am only going by historic anecdote here as I’ve not used them for support issues for quite some time so they may have improved a lot. Megapixel front facing camera. Not a great powerhouse of a camera and you wouldn’t want to use it to take photos. But it does suffice if you want to video call anyone with Skype for example. My main machine is a MacBook Pro 15″ from 2015. It’s a beast, still even today being a processing power house that does everything I need it to. Except for one thing really – it’s not very portable. Plug the laptop into a different power outlet. Unplug the laptop, wait a few minutes, and then plug it into an outlet on a different wall or room. If the laptop charges when connected elsewhere, the problem is not your computer or charger.

For example I can’t just go to Network&Internet Settings -> Change Adapter Options -> Enable/Diable the WiFi because its simply not there.

Input devices - No stylus support

Unfortunately, we also have to note that there would be a few places where the manufacturer could improve the device a lot with little effort. PowerDelivery in the existing USB-C port, a halfway calibrated screen, and an HDMI port instead of mini-HDMI would greatly improve the usability of the GeoFlex 140. Especially the missing USB-PD unnecessarily limits the convertible to the included power adapter, since most modern smartphone power adapters manage to output 12 volts and 2 amps. We would even gladly do without the included power adapter for this. Having said that, when I broke the laptop by installing PrimeOS onto the main eMMC and finding it didn’t work quite as well as I’d hoped, I also broke the restore image partition. This meant that I couldn’t re-install Windows directly from the laptop. Remember though, you MAY be invalidating your warranty. You do so at your own risk and I am not responsible if you do. I’ve Bought The M.2 SATA Drive, now what?
