You can also buy a Flymo’s shelter which goes with the charging base to add extra weather protection. Alternatively, you can see my full list of robot mower garage ideas that you can buy or create yourself.

The weather may have changed for the better after a week of heavy rain — and now the grass is getting out of control. The Override option tells the mower to ignore scheduled commands and to start mowing the lawn. Second Area EasiLife uses a boundary wire to indicate the areas to cut. The boundary wire should be installed around the edge of your lawn, and around any large objects like trees or hedges. The base is suitable against splashes from all angles which should protect it from rain, whilst the mower is a step up and can sustain a water jet. This is ideal for cleaning as I’ll discuss later.Cold air, and in particular frost, can take a large toll on plants. And cutting grass in freezing conditions can have a lasting negative effect on the performance of your lawn. FrostSense adjusts the scheduling of the mower and pauses mowing if the temperature goes below 5o C. Spot Cut

To prevent theft, it has a PIN code that must be entered before using the control panel. There is no GPS on the device so if theft is highly likely, you might want to look at the Bosch Indigo S350+ which has geofencing alerts. Ultra quiet mowing at 58dB(A) means that you won’t disturb you or your neighbours when your robotic is mowing, allowing you to keep to a regular mowing schedule for a healthy greener lawn. Choosing the best Flymo robotic mower for your garden will depend on what you’re looking for. What might work well for you might not be as efficient for me, so it’s worth pitting each model against each other and comparing them to your needs. The app uses Bluetooth so you do need to be in range of the device to use it. Plus, there’s no voice control, if smart home integration is key, I recommend the Indi go S+ 3 50 as an alternative which can be used with Alexa. Underneath, you’ll find the same three spinning blades that mulch the grass into tiny pieces. This is the method used by most robot lawn mowers to prevent having to empty any clippings. Mulching is also better for the grass as the small clipping are recirculated into the soil. This advanced mower has an easy to understand interface and a practical smartphone control system. The EasiLife app makes it possible for you to choose between settings or use intelligent auto-programmes. These include LawnSense and FrostSense, which take weather and growth conditions into consideration to adapt the mowing schedule and prevent damage. Of course, the schedule can also be adjusted manually. Flymo EasiLife 500: Price UK Experience the future of lawn care with the Flymo EasiLife 500, where technology meets convenience! A Game-Changer in Lawn Maintenance – My Review with the Flymo EasiLife 500 In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know to help you choose the right Flymo robotic mower for you and your lawn. Why Choose A Flymo Robotic Mower?

Many of the other features are just the same as the EasiLife range including the intelligent guide wires that allow you to set a clear start and end point for the robotic mower. The GO range also come with LawnSense and FrostSense as well as the mulching function. The EasiLife is an excellent option is for those that are more tech savvy, as configuration of the robotic mower is done using the EasiLife app. There is a wide selection of Flymo EasiLife robotic mowers to suit every conceivable lawn size. They vary from the Flymo EasiLife 200, 350, 500 and 800 – the main difference relates to the size of lawn the machine is programmed to mow each day, therefore if you have a smaller lawn I would recommend the EasiLife 200 since it is designed for lawns up to 200 square metres. Likewise for larger lawns you should consider the larger 350, 500 or 800 models depending on the size of your lawn. The EasiLife 500 doesn’t just offer convenience; it’s an environmentally conscious choice. The electric-powered system means no harmful emissions, contributing to a healthier, cleaner atmosphere. Pros and Cons Pros PassageSense: This allows the Easilife 200 to navigate through narrow passages. It’s helpful if you have two large areas of grass that are connected via a grass passage, but you will still need boundary wire around the whole lawn, including the passage. You’ll also need to lay the passage wire which is similar to a perimeter wire.

When it comes to cutting performance, the Easilife 200 matches the former 1200R with a very similar setup and is broadly in line with the Easilife 350 I reviewed recently. The EasiLife 500 relies on a range of sensors to run around a lawn and keep the operation safe. This unit comes with a roll of wire that acts as an invisible radio boundary around the limits of the lawn. First-time owners will need to install this wire with the grass staples supplied. Bury the wire – If you dethatch or aerate your lawn it is recommended that you bury the boundary wire to avoid damage. Make sure to bury the boundary wire at least 1cm and a maximum of 20cm into the ground. Any Downsides? The initial investment was quite steep, and setting up the boundary wire around the lawn took effort and precision. It also struggled a bit with very tall grass, so I had to ensure the grass didn’t grow too much between the mows. Lastly, it’s heavily reliant on a stable Wi-Fi connection for the smart features, which was a bit of a hurdle a few times due to connectivity issues in my area.

Since launching the 1200R robotic lawn mower in 2013, when robotic lawn mowers were almost unknown in the UK, Flymo has helped grow the market segment by making robotic lawn mowers more available and affordable, with a majority share in the UK market. Having looked at the massive range of features on all 3 Flymo robotic mower categories, it’s easy to see that they’re all what one would consider ‘good.’ However, it really depends on what you need from your robotic lawn mower as to which one is right for you.

The bestselling Flymo EasiLife GO model is the 250, this robotic mower is perfect; as the name may suggest, for lawns up to 250m². It is user friendly, with minimal configuration and set up as it doesn’t have a screen, nor complex controls. It is simply plug in and go, same as the other models in the GO range. If your lawn is larger than 200 sqm, the Easilife 350 is the next step up that might be more suitable.
