There’s more ingredients in this bake than there is with a regular sponge cake. And as you might know already, the more ingredients, the more important that consistent mixing becomes. Sometimes it might also be served with vanilla custard. It’s a common dessert in England, Australia, and New Zealand. What Are Toffee Bits? You’ll see xanthan gum in a lot of my recipes as it’s an essential ingredient in gluten free baking. The exact date that toffee was invented is not known. Candy thermometer tips: When you clip the thermometer to the side of your pan, make sure the bulb at the bottom of the thermometer is not touching the bottom or the sides of the pan. This can cause inaccurate temperature readings, which will affect the final result of this vegan toffee.
