Description

Most kids love to talk about themselves and starting school with an all-about-me activity is a good way to get to know your students as you begin to build relationships. But have you thought to set up classroom displays using the result of the project? By setting them up on the classroom walls, students can get to know their new classmates over the course of the first few weeks of school, and parents will love to spot their child on the wall. My favourite space this year has been an adjectives discovery cupboard (see below) which the students co-created. It consists of students’ favourite adjectives, false friends and near cognates. Each adjective is presented in the same way, using the same colour scheme. Students need no cajoling to go and find inspiration for written work in the cupboard! Print on cardboard for added durability and longevity. Simply print a leaf per student and enough copies of the trunk and branches to suit your wall space.

Display posters are a fantastic visual aid that will help create an inviting learning environment that makes children excited and eager to learn.

Curriculum

Are there any countries that use trees (or parts of trees) on their flags? Can you design a new tree-themed flag? Read our Five Decodable Books For Children Blog Here. What will my kids gain from this simple family tree template?

The photo above shows students' designs for their ideal neighbourhood with a range of buildings, streets and locations labelled and colour-coded according to grammatical gender. Alongside their designs they produced written descriptions of each area (north, east, south, west and central). All students were asked to include a simile at the end to sum up their new neighbourhood and had to use modifiers and a range of conjunctions throughout. You could even make a classroom display by combining all of your students finished efforts to add a splash of colour to your learning space. You could even include some completed All About Me Poster Template. A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your social-emotional learning.

What's included in this photographic display of UK trees?

Then take the tan paper, wad it a bit for texture, and attach it to the cardboard using glue. Wadding it up a bit is what gives the texture, making it look more like wood. As mentioned above, plenty of national curriculums around the world have been placing extra emphasis on teaching students to be kind in recent years. This brilliant resource is great to use with your class to teach them about different types of leaves. Ready for the ideas? See all our printable classroom displays to save you set-up time! How Do You Make a Classroom Display? I use a mixture of pictures and words for an ‘interrogative pronouns’ display with the pictures on separate pieces of card, so they can be moved around and students can match them up with the correct pronoun, thereby creating a tactile display.

This tree template can be used to display representations of all these things and more. The only limit is yours and your students' imaginations.

Make a ‘Record-breaking trees’ booklet / poster with facts about amazing trees (e.g. the tallest tree in the world, the oldest tree in the world). Take some photos of the same tree at different times of year. Can you create a time-lapse animation showing how the tree changes? Once you’ve found a palm tree to plant (either indoor or outdoor), you’ll need to take steps to care for the plant when it’s growing:
