About this deal

Asa claims he shot the man who was with Sloan during the fake FBI raid in self-defense, and the judge dismisses the case. Sloan is having a baby and she doesn’t know who the daddy is. I hoped it was Luke’s baby. But my hopes and dreams feel when I found out Asa was tampering with Sloan’s birth control pills. Asa wanted Sloan to be pregnant because he figured there was no way she would leave him if they had a baby together. Asa and Sloan return to the room with Luke. As Sloan screams in panic, Asa shoots Luke in the chest. As an independent American author from Texas, Colleen Hoover came to writing as a hobby, but still something she felt compelled to do. Like most modern working women, she balances her work, her marriage, her two young sons and still finds joy in writing and promoting her own creations.

Too Late was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay darker than I thought it was possible for Hoover to go. I mean, have you seen her? She’s farking adorable. It was, but mostly, Too Late was a melodramatic get-together of underdeveloped characters and a ridiculous plot line. There's no way I can keep this up. Asa never goes to class on a regular basis, yet he always passes with near perfect grades. I'm struggling to keep my head above water, and I didn't miss a single day last semester. Well, in physical form, anyway. Unfortunately we live with so many other people, there's never a quiet moment in the house. I catch myself falling asleep in class more often than not; it's the only time I get peace and quiet. The parties seem to go on all hours of the day and night, regardless of who has class the next day. Weekends have no bearings over weekdays in our house, and rent has no bearing over who lives here.

As all good writers realize, she writes what she knows – family, friendship, change, and especially love. Her plots and characters have immense appeal among young women readers, and she sets her characters in modern day situations of friendship, new relationships, first love, and heartbreak. Slammed Her father has died tragically and she is losing hope. In her new home she makes new friends and meets an attractive neighbor. The neighbor is also her poetry teacher and he attends slam poetry readings. More drama ensues and their relationship is slammed to a sudden halt. They struggle to find balance between the feelings that pull them together. Feelings of guilt and remorse have plagued the young Dean, and he searches for a sense of peace in his dilemma with Sky. When they finally reconnect, a greater pain embraced the young man. For the second installment in the series, readers learn more about Holder’s youth, and his search for redemption in the act of saving another. Connecting with Colleen Hoover Also, while Hoover is known for “instant love” stories, this one seemed incredibly fast — even for her. so there you have it. how am i supposed to positively rate a book that i really quite enjoyed but dont want to be too generous because there is one major flaw that my conscience wont allow me to overlook? its so much better than 3 stars (its at least a 4), but i personally feel way too guilty with giving anything over that. ughhh.

Asa’s need to control Sloan and keep her near him intensifies. He proposes to her and promises to get the two of them out of the house and into their own place. He buys her a gaudy engagement ring she would have never chosen, and when she doesn’t wear it one single time, Asa physically superglues the ring onto her finger. The lengths to which he will go to keep Sloan by his side are downright frightening. So I leave GR for a bit because real life sometimes exists and I hate it. Then I get a message from my bookpushing bestie giving me a 'gentle' nudge to read this book. The third installment in Colleen Hoover’s immensely popular series has the story told from the point of view of Will, Layken’s love in the original two books. This is a genuine story of young newlyweds, and the years of discovery still going on between these two beloved characters. When I read that Too Late would be “different than anything CoHo has ever written before” my reaction was pretty much . . .

Learn everything you need to know about Too Late by Colleen Hoover in this full summary (with spoilers of the ending marked) and book review. Ryan, Luke’s partner (previously Dawson for most of the book), shows up at Sloan’s and Luke’s apartment, and when Luke opens the door, Ryan explains that Asa made him come to the apartment. Asa appears and Luke shoots his gun out of his hand. Ryan then shoots each of his legs. He is taken away by cops, and Sloan, Luke, and Ryan are all relieved that these new charges will finally bring him to trial and give him what he deserves. Luke sends Sloan up to bed with Asa against his better judgment, but he knows he has no other choice without blowing his cover to the rest of the people in the house. The story is about Sloan, a girl that is apparently very strong and unyielding, however, in my opinion, she comes across as a whiny doormat. I guess that’s the difference between being loved the right way and the wrong way. You either feel tethered to an anchor….or you feel like you’re flying. You’re one of the strongest people I’ve ever met,” I whisper. “You are everything Asa doesn’t deserve. And everything I want.” A psychological suspense novel of obsession and dangerous love. The definitive edition of Too Late from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Verity. Release Date: The “definitive edition” of Too Late was released on June 27, 2023. It was self-published in various formats throughout the decade beforehand.

Luke, concerned for Sloan who is upstairs being detained, tells the agents who handcuffed him that he is a cop and blows his cover. He feels that the sooner he makes them aware that there is no need to arrest him, the sooner he can get to Sloan. Luke is slightly disappointed that the work he and Dawson have done is for nothing, and the FBI seems to have busted Asa before their investigation concluded. I liked that Too Late featured Hoover’s fast-paced, to-the-point writing. It is very engaging and moves the story along well. I also am one who finds it interesting to read about subject matter that I don’t have much experience with in real life, so getting a glimpse into the life of a drug dealer was interesting. heres a discussion question for you all: at what point are you allowed to negatively rate a work of fiction because there are certain aspects you morally disagree with? additionally, at what point are you allowed to overlook those personal objections because the overall concept/idea of the story is just so dang interesting? this is the dilemma i am currently facing. but can all that allow me to forget that i cant stand the way mental illness is portrayed in this and hows its harmfully used as a plot device to further develop a certain character as a villain? i am all for hating characters if they are large pieces of trash and have no redeemable qualities. but i dont know if i can promote, even condone, a story which utilises the actions of an untreated mental illness as a way to get the reader to hate a character. if anything, i just felt sad and sympathetic for them towards the end, hating the way the other characters treated him, instead. The two are drawn to each other, even when they try to resist, and as secrets are revealed, their bond is intensified. Change in both of them is paramount and both characters hope to heal their emotional scars and live with less boundaries in their young lives. In the companion book Losing Hope, Colleen take the story further, but this time from the perspective of Dean, the troubled youth with secrets to reveal. It should also be noted that fans looking for Hoover’s signature spice may be disappointed, as Too Late only has one non-graphic sex scene. The rest of the sex scenes, although plentiful, can be difficult to read as they involve assault. Invective words were thrown into this story like sugar in cake. I do not have any problems with a bit swearing in books, but this was over the top.
