The T1 record player boasts premium materials, stylish aesthetics, a rich, lively sound and an accessible price. It can also be accommodated into almost any environment thanks to its multiple finish options and three output versions. There is no speed selection on the T1, so switching from 33 ⅓ rpm to 45 RPM will require removing the platter and moving the belt to the appropriate pulley on the motor. This is a bit cumbersome, especially when lower-priced turntables like the Fluance RT81 include a speed selection/power knob. All three of these features certainly point to a turntable more in line with the term “audiophile”. Also worth noting is the T1’s compatibility with aptX HD, which is increasingly becoming standard on new equipment, thus improving the sound of Bluetooth connectivity further.

The Pro-Ject T1 is classic Pro-Ject design with clean lines and no frills. The turntable houses a built-in belt drive motor and spindle, which should help with isolating some vibration from the motor. On top of the base model, the T1 BT features a built-in phono stage and a Bluetooth transmitter for wireless music streaming to your favourite Bluetooth speakers and headphones." - Pro-Ject 🔑KEY FEATURES Sparser arrangements are also beneficial, however, because this isn’t the most spacious of soundstages and can sometimes be cluttered by a throng of instruments. Detail can be lost, and the presentation somewhat muddied. Enjoy the best sound you’re your vinyl, plus the benefit of Bluetooth output, with the Project T1 BT.That said, we are reviewing the base model T1, which means it doesn’t come with a phono pre-amp nor Bluetooth. Design One feature I did miss on the T1 BT was the speed control; for my money, I would rather have this feature than Bluetooth connectivity. Choosing the best model for you comes down to your priorities and connectivity requirements. Pro-Ject T1 Review Conclusion TheT1 BTfeatures a switchable Moving Magnet phono stage with Bluetooth transmission so you can output at Line level, Phono or wirelessly via Bluetooth. The T1 BT is supplied with a built-in Bluetooth transmitter to wireless transmit the sound to a Bluetooth receiver, such as wireless headphones. It also has a built-in phono stage for connection to a traditional hi-fi system. Effortlessly simple to set-up and produces a highly engaging, accessible sound that really makes your records sing. Made in Europe, and featuring only premium materials – there is no plastic where it shouldn’t be, as every component part is made to the same exacting standards as far more expensive designs. ProJect have a passionate belief in the importance of true stereo sound, and their turntables are a key part of that.

With the T1, however, I did get a sense of added focus and depth, likely due to the improved resonance control of the wooden plinth and glass platter. Pro-Ject would also argue the T1 is easier to set up than its Rega rival, and with that we couldn't disagree. It might only be the difference of 15 minutes or so spent gauging weights, but that could understandably be pivotal for those looking for an easy entry into great vinyl sound.heavy glass platter + solid machined plinth (base) designed to minimize resonance and unwanted vibration With its standard Bluetooth output, the T1 BT opens up a whole range of new connection possibilities. Perfect for connecting to a Bluetooth speaker or a Bluetooth enabled hi-fi system, the wireless connection lets you place the turntable much further away from the system than would otherwise be possible. Plus, it’s clutter-free!

In terms of using the Pro-Ject T1, everything was simple but there were no nice-to-have features that we loved from the Fluance turntables. Speed changes are a hassle as you need to remove the platter and move the belt to the correct pulley and there’s no auto-stop feature that protects your needle from excessive wear either like you do on the Fluance tables. Listening to the Pro-Ject T1, sound quality was completely adequate but failed to capture the magic of recordings. The T1 Phono SB is finished with a built-in phono stage and integrated speed control button for convenience in set-up and use. Like a well-designed watch, looks are important when buying a record player. An attractive turntable can liven up a room, and that's precisely what Pro-Ject Audio's T1 BT does. After entering my apartment for the first time in more than a year, my friend's first words were “Wow, that looks pretty.” But the model he was admiring is a redesigned version of the T1 BT from Houseplant, a new company from actor and comedian Seth Rogen and his creative partner Evan Goldberg that sells cannabis and cannabis lifestyle accessories.

Designed tobe an affordable yet high fidelity turntable for vinyl lovers, T1 has a simple plug n play set up and uses top-grade materials for industry leading acoustics. CNC Plinth The Rega betters the T1 in terms of dynamics too, but then it has bettered most rivals over the past few years. There is still enough feeling here for an entertaining performance, it just isn’t the subtlest performer available for this money. Verdict The platter is made from medium density fiberboard and a wood-look veneer finish. While nicely built, the turntable is extremely light and doesn’t damp vibration as well as other turntables in the price range. The Planar 1 doesn’t quite possess Pro-Ject’s ability to wrap its arms around you and hug; it’s a leaner performance, which musically we prefer, but might not sate those coveting a taste of home cooking.Pro-Ject T1 Turntable adds a Bluetooth module to the standard T1 model along with and integrated phono stage for wireless audio transmission. Two alternative output versions exist to offer maximum affordability as you only pay for the features you use. T-Line The model I am testing today is the T1 BT, which sadly doesn’t have speed control. So if you’re in the market, there are decisions to be made with the T1 depending on your priorities. If you want the convenience of Bluetooth, this comes with the inconvenience of manual speed control from 33 1/3 rpm to 45 rpm. Decisions decision… Pro-Ject T1 Review: Sound Quality Test On top of the base model, the T1 BT features a built-in phono stage and a BT transmitter for wireless music streaming to your favourite BT speakers and headphones. One thing we will say about the T1: it's not possible to adjust the tonearm's anti-skate settings, since they're factory-fixed. It's not a major catastrophe – we trust The weightier, higher-quality materials used across all three models immediately give the T1 a more premium feel and should help control resonance more effectively than the entry-level alternatives.
