About this deal

Whilst it may provide some benefit, particularly if used with a 3D White brush head, the differences are going to be extremely subtle, if not impossible to notice. If you need more detail on any of the brushes, read on or leave a comment. Brush vs brush comparison posts

In my hands-on testing I achieved a little over 10 days with the 1000, but a whole 3 extra days with the 2000. However, in reality, being able to see or feel the differences are virtually impossible unless under very strict test conditions.

1) Features: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500

All the electric toothbrushes on test today have a “Protimer”. This is a helpful on handle timer that buzzes every 30 seconds. After four of these buzzes you will have completed your recommended 2 minutes of brushing. Features: Verdict Below, is a list of models we have compared to one another, plus some that we have compared to their Sonicare equivalents.

The light colour is not customisable, nor does it stay lit the whole time. But, when the built-in pressure sensor is activated, the light ring is lit red.

End rounding of the brush makes the brushing movements gentle. The angled Bristles helps you to clean in between teeth. It has ultra-thin bristles for extra light and gentle cleaning. The Smart 5 5000 comes supplied with a more suitable holder too. It sits on a work surface rather than needing to be attached to a wall. It is our opinion is smarter and less unsightly. You just need to pop your phone in it, which takes a couple of seconds compared to the tens of seconds with the genius brush configuration. You phone then sits in portrait or landscape orientation and shows the on-screen timer.

Many people do not brush for the right amount of time, nor use the correct brushing technique. In most cases, this is because they have never been shown. Perfecting these will have far greater improvement than the speed of the brush head. The CrossAction brush comes as standard with the Oral-B Pro 2 2500N. As the brush head size is quite small, it means that it easily accesses the most difficult of molar teeth. This in my view is the best brush head Oral-B make. This is because it has special bristles that are angled at 16 degrees, which allow it to clean close to the gum line. A toothbrush with a whitening mode or a whitening brush head is not guaranteed to give whitening results. I want to let you know that as differences in electric toothbrushes go, the number here is limited. The 2 brushes are very similar.ThePro 600 offers 8,800 oscillations and 20,0000 pulsations whilst the 2000 offers 9,900oscillations and 45,000 pulsations. A bigger difference and potentially useful feature for first time electric toothbrush users is the inclusion of a pressure sensor on the 2000. The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 Electric Toothbrush comes with a travel case where you can store the electric toothbrush handle and two electric toothbrush heads. It is a pretty simple construction however it has some neat design features. The Pro 2 2000 has 2 cleaning modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive) compared to the 1 mode (Daily Clean) on the Pro 1000. Changing the brush heads is very easy, which is handy if other family members share the same handle and just swap on their own cleaning heads as needed.

This travel case holds the handle and up to 2 brush heads. It is a transparent case and is fairly basic in its overall design, but most importantly, it is functional. Interestingly, despite the similar design, the Smart 6 is actually part of a range of brushes that includes the Smart 4 and 5 that sit below the Genius range. With only a couple of slight differences between these two models, the Pro 3 3000 is the more premium and expensive of the two. But it doesn’t make it the one to go for.The benefit of doing away with the large rubber grip is that the Pro 3 is easier to keep clean. Toothpaste residue doesn’t build up on the handle in quite the same way as the 2500. But, although the 3500 is now all smooth touch plastic, it isn’t as slippy as you might expect. The 2500 does feel marginally more secure in the hand. Given that this icon only lights up when the mode is selected, it is hard to tell, but the Genius 9000 does offer a Tongue Cleaning mode that the Smart 6 does not. The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 looks like an expensive electric toothbrush and feels solid in the hand. It features a slimline body, which is easy to grip. Although if you do suffer from arthritis of the hand, it may be on the too thin side. You have to stand in front of your smartphone when brushing and can’t really move as the brush movements need to be seen by the camera.
