About this deal

Emal Golam Zadran is a family failure who managed to get caught at just the right time. For himself. Emily is a talented hook...er, actress, who helps them out. Combining an intricate puzzle of a plot and an exciting chase for truth and justice, Lee Child puts Reacher through his paces—and makes him question who he is, what he’s done, and the very future of his untethered life on the open road. Cards on the table. I like Reacher, always have, but I might be getting a bit tired of reading the same story.

You know, over time I've read quite a few of the Reacher books now. I read them in groups of 2 or 3 at a time. I've commented before on why that is. This reveals itself for be the fact the men were tested on with a memory removing drug. During their original trials, some locals were killed in an accident and this rather ridicoulsly has them being covered up in the current tense. Okay, don't get too excited now. According to Child, Reacher is 6' 5" and about 250 lbs of hard muscle. This is what that might look like. Following Harkness' arrest, Turner is reinstated to her command. Reacher promises to keep in touch, then goes to meet Sam at a diner. He tells her he will recognize her mother, if he knows her, as he remembers every woman he has slept with. Samantha reveals that the waitress that had been serving him is, in fact, her mother, so Reacher cannot be her father, as neither had recognized the other. He stayed on his feet for a long second, and then his knees got the message that the lights were out upstairs, and he went down in a vertical heap, like he had jumped off a wall. A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy.

I hate to say it … but after 18 books, Reacher is starting to suffer from the Spenser Syndrome: a great character that is becoming redundant. It's a bit like the author has taken the cliched framework of a thriller, disassembled it, added in some different names but taken out a couple of key ingredients viz. the crime and the motivation. Inferno' Takes on the World Series as 'Doctor Strange' Debuts Overseas". Box Office Mojo. Archived from the original on 2018-06-18 . Retrieved 2020-04-17. Another sweltering month in Charlotte, another boatload of mysteries past and present for overworked, overstressed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. This time we follow, the now close to 70, Harry on a wartime reunion on a Scottish castle, unfortunately the first of his old RAF pals are killed even before they reach the castle and it only gets worse from thereon, it's a little like visiting Barnaby in Midsomer, people dropping left and right. When Harry joins up with the evasive and les that honest Barry Chipchase the story turns in to a race against time, can they find the murder before they are killed, or charged with the murders themselves. It tells the story of a group of RAF comrades from national service who meet up again at a reunion in a scottish castle, where they escaped punishment if they agreed to go on an education program from a series of minor crimes committed. Moorcroft, is later beaten to death by the Hunter, an ex- SOCOM operator-turned mercenary who frames Reacher for the murder. Reacher is arrested and transported to the prison where Turner is being detained. When two hitmen arrive, he neutralizes them, then escapes with Turner. They go to Morgan's, having deduced he is involved in the conspiracy. The Hunter later kills Morgan and again frames Reacher. Oh, oh, I love it. Morgan’s recalling Reacher is gonna bite him bad, and I love that Reacher takes full advantage. Lord knows someone has to take the reins! Brilliant . . . Child never, ever slips. He keeps the action cranking better than anyone, but, best of all, he keeps us guessing about Reacher.” — Booklist (starred review)

For the pure pleasure of uncomplicated, nonstop action, no one touches Reacher, who accurately observes that “I trained myself...to turn fear into aggression.”The story takes place in the present, but we see flashes of the past as Harry uncovers fragments of his memories. These lead him to question his fellow soldiers and their families. He doesn’t understand what he’s discovering, and he can’t quite believe it. The police don’t believe him either.
