Start with the speakers placed around 30cm out from the rear wall and experiment from there. It’s worth angling them towards the listening position to focus the stereo imaging, but not so much that the boxes are directly pointing at you. Monitor Audio suggests aiming the tweeters so that they cross around a metre or so behind the listener. That works well for us. Klipsch R-51M doesn’t have any remote control. It is a passive speaker that connects to an amp and then you can easily control it.

The Bronze 100 speakers models maintain the quality of construction and sound from this Monitor Audio line but move the sound onwards in terms of maturity from the lower-cost Bronze 50s. Placed no further than a metre from the rear and side walls in my larger listening room and toed-in a tad, its ability to fill the space with music big-boy style requiring only a modest tweak of volume from a Cambridge CXA61 integrated amp (HFC 459) is very impressive. That 90dB claimed sensitivity seems no exaggeration. When parties with loud music are permitted again, the Bronze 500 and Deep Purple will be ready and willing. So, this review is partly an independent review of the Bronze 100 speakers in and of themselves but it’s also an investigation. What happens when you move up from the bottom of the speaker range and you lift yourself to rung number two. What happens? Are the sonic results worth the extra cash spent?

SOUND QUALITY

Hence the mids from an acoustic guitar here offered more twang and metallic crispness while the bass had greater impact and tonal balance. As a reviewer, I am frequently spoiled by the hardware that passes through for testing. I’ve listened to some truly outstanding - and expensive - speakers over the last year or so. The tweeter’s so-called Uniform Dispersion Waveguide is essentially the same as that of the Silver series from the range above and acts like a sophisticated phase plug to better control off-axis dispersion from the slightly recessed dome. It also fine tunes time alignment with the large main drivers and slightly lowers the frequency point it hands over to them. The problem is not many people have heard the new series but i could save some money at the same time and get the old ones not sure what the best thing to do any help would be appreciated.

Build quality is good and feels durable. No matter how much speaker designers may enjoy indulging their higher-end fantasies with the budgetary ties loosened off, getting stuff right on the ground floor is the most valuable thing they will ever do for their paymasters. Affordable is often mistaken as a euphemism for cheap, but in reality it’s the place where the bond between brand and customer is either made or broken and cheap is most definitely not the impression that needs to linger. You can draw a parallel with a restaurant’s house wine. It may be the least costly thing on the wine list, but woe betide the establishment that supplies cheap plonk if it thinks return custom might be the way forward. It is easy to connect several devices to the speaker and switch between them. We love how the speaker includes all necessary cables. Use the RCA to 3.5mm cable to connect mobiles or tabs to the speaker. You can connect TV or CD players to the speaker via optical port. Bluetooth shows stable performance and you can connect any Bluetooth enabled device including mobile, laptop, etc.
