About this deal

Frontline are well known for their topical treatments and other insect battling products. Their spray may be one of the lesser-known products in their range. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases. The key to getting rid of fleas permanently is to ensure that both existing fleas and their eggs are killed. This is done by using active ingredients which both provide fast and effective control of adult fleas. Our flea spray is also key to breaking the flea life cycle, preventing the development and growth of flea eggs and flea larvae in the home for up to six months. Effective flea treatment From a distance of about 15cm spray the product onto the roots of the coat and onto the skin. Work from the rear to the head to give an even spread of product over the main body area. Vacuum every day. Vacuuming not only helps remove flea eggs in the home, but it also encourages flea pupae to hatch.

Adams Plus flea shampoo contains pyrethrins, which kill adult fleas, as well as the insect growth regulator pyriproxyfen. It also contains piperonyl butoxide, which boosts the effectiveness of pyrethrins. The recipe is formulated with soothing aloe, lanolin, and oatmeal to help minimize skin irritation. Sometimes abbreviated to TCVP, this chemical is a neurotoxin that affects fleas. It’s particularly common in flea collars. TCVP is classified as a possible human carcinogen and could also be harmful to your cat. Propoxur Tony, this is an interesting one! I’m not a vet, but here are my thoughts. It looks like this product is intended to be taken internally to deter fleas and strengthen your cat’s immune system. Starting with the latter, the idea that you can deter fleas by strengthening the immune system is…weird. A healthy immune system is what causes the allergic reaction to flea bites. A strong immune system is fine, but a stronger immune response is not necessarily what you want when dealing with fleas. Fleas thrive in warm, humid environments. In balmy regions, they may be active all year. In climates that experience cold winters and warm summers, fleas remain dormant until the weather warms. Often, persistent feline acne is considered to be related to an allergy or immune response. The frustrating part of it is that it is often very difficult to determine the allergen or allergens causing it, or impossible to remove the allergen if it is environmental. Removal of plastic food and water bowls and replacing them with metal or ceramic bowls is the most common recommendation, but that was probably discussed with you some time ago, perhaps still leaving the underlying cause unknown.Frontline Spray for cats is considered waterproof, but the manufacturer does recommend waiting 48 hours before bathing, and to use a soap-free shampoo.

While Frontline products should never be ingested, fipronil generally appears to have a low potential for toxicity both topically and even if accidentally ingested. Depending on the product used and level of infestation, it can range from 24 hours up to several months. Often, it can take three to four months to get rid of an infestation in your home, but fleas on your pets should die within the first 18 to 24 hours. What chemicals kill fleas and their eggs? Following application of any Frontline product, it’s important to note that because fipronil causes neurologic overexcitement in the flea prior to killing it, more fleas may become visible and active following application of the product.Flea collars have growth-inhibiting substances in them to stop fleas growing, but most are not a reliable treatment option. Some can also cause irritation. Application is also generally messier, requiring gloves and possibly keeping a kitty that has had the spray recently applied in a confined area like a bathroom for at least 24 hours until the spray fully dries to prevent it from ending up on upholstery and furniture.

This also presents a challenge for multiple cat households where lots of co-grooming occurs. Compared to the spot-on, it would be even more important to separate housemate kitties for up to 24 hours after application to allow the product to fully dry. Fleas will move to the driest area of the kitten, so it is not unusual to see them swarm to the head and facial area. If you can grab these fleas with your fingers or tweezers, drop them into a cup of hot, soapy water. 2. Comb out the fleas while the fur is damp.So in conclusion, yes, an effective cat flea spray for your home will remove fleas, but you shouldn’t rely solely on them to solve all infestations. Can I use a flea spray on my cat?

Once kittens reach eight to twelve weeks of age, many of the most popular veterinary approved flea products can be used on them, and so the main issue when it comes to fleas occurs in kittens under eight weeks old, which is when a flea infestation is potentially the most risky. Its entirely natural formula uses plant-based alternatives to chemicals used in other flea sprays to produce a product that seems just as effective at removing fleas from bedding and linen. Some ingredients are simply not safe to use as flea treatments in cats. Products specifically designed for dogs are sometimes dangerous to use in cats but even some products labeled or marketed for cats can be harmful.Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. Frontline Spray contains only fipronil, which means that it doesn’t provide as much prevention coverage as the newer spot-on product innovations Frontline Plus and Frontline GOLD. You should aim to use a flea spray to help stop fleas residing in certain places in your home, while another more suitable (stronger) flea treatment gets to work on ridding your cat of them.
