About this deal

A while after the introduction of Tag Team GX Cards Reshiram & Charizard went their separate ways, after an undeniably successful campaign. Charizard forged a new partnership this time with Braixen. This new partnership lasted three cards (to date) in the Sun & Moon series' final set; Cosmic Eclipse. Just how much can you get for your Charizard-GX Pokémon card? This guide will help you find out. Make sure you read below to discover the different values for the different releases of Charizard-GX. TLDR; Here’s How Much a Charizard-GX is Worth Despite the basic artwork, this card is quite popular. It’s sold in Hidden Fates tins as a promo card, and the further we get from the release date (2019) the higher the value will become. It’s worth hanging onto if you have one. Bold indicates a main expansion. Italics indicate a special set. Releases that are entirely composed of prints from other releases are small.

Once the sun set on the Sun & Moon series the Sword & Shield series arrived and GX Cards were replaced with V Cards. Not only this but V Pokemon attained the new ability; to go VMAX (become massively bigger versions of their original Pokemon). And Charizard was never going to be left out of the fun. Lets take a look at all the V and VMAX cards featuring the ultimate dragon looking non-dragon. Charizard-GX is not the same as regular Charizard, nor Charizard-EX. If you need values for these card types, scroll down to our guide below. As with other Pokémon cards, multiple prints were issued with different artwork. The best way to differentiate them is with the card identifying number in the bottom left-hand corner. Sun & Moon: Unbroken Bonds, Reshiram & Charizard-GX (20/214) This full-art card shows the tag team at their finest. It’s not quite as lustrous as the rainbow that’s coming up next in our list, but it’s still a collectible item that collectors will pay considerable amounts for.The full art version of 20/214 shows new partners Reshiram & Charizard in a more relaxed pose. A really nice looking card and my favourite of the three zards in this set. Illustrated by CG Works. The Charizard EX of the Evolutions set used the same artwork as it's predecessor from XY Flashfire (12/106) as well as having the same moveset and HP. Illustrated by PLANETA. Value is tied closely to rarity, so the rarer the card, the more it is worth. GX cards tend to be rarer than standard cards, so they’re higher in value. You should also look for: Left to right: Charizard 14/181 from Sun & Moon Team Up, Charizard SM158 Holo Promo Card from the Team Up Pre-Release, Charizard SM226 was from the Collectors Chest 2019. Reshiram is another fire Pokémon, so this card really sets the game alight. Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, it shows the Pokémon side by side as they head into battle. This formidable card was popular throughout the Sun & Moon era, into the days of Sword & Shield.

The only rainbow version of the Charizard and Braixen tag team, this card is highly sought after and ensured the Sun & Moon expansion went out with a sparkly, rainbow bang. I'm ashamed to say that prior to writing this article I didn't even know this card existed. We've had Dragonite and Delibird doing deliveries previously, a Dragonite with a mail bag being re-released as a promo for the Sword & Shield series (a nod to the First Movie promo) would've been awesome - but they opted for yet another Charizard. No complaint from me though, its an awesome card. It's also highly sought after and in zero supply. I literally just looked for this while I was writing and there doesn't appear to be any available at any of the online marketplaces. I can only expect that it was a Pokemon Center exclusive. There was actually reference to this card in a little booklet that came with the Sword & Shield Ultra Premium Collection. The Japanese version of the Charizard appears to have the same moves and ability as that of it's English counterpart card. Artwork byMitsuhiro Arita. Charizard, the final evolution of everyone’s favorite fire Pokémon, is worth more than you might think. In the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), there have been many releases of Charizard. It’s a fantastic card to have.

This promo is an alternative full art of the Reshirard card from Unbroken Bonds, it was released in the Reshiram & Charizard GX Figure collection alongside a rather cool mini-figure of Reshiram & Charizard. It came in both standard and full art versions. The card was sought after by both collectors and competitive TCG players. It's possibly the nicest looking Reshirard card for me.Illustrasted by Ryota Murayama. In Japan, 7 Gold Tag Team GX cards released in that set, these Gold cards are: Reshiram & Charizard GX, Pikachu & Zekrom GX, Mewtwo & Mew GX, Greninja & Zoroark GX, Lucario & Melmetal GX, Garchomp & Giratina GX and Moltres, Zapdos & Articuno GX. This article is part of Project TCG, a Bulbapedia project that aims to report on every aspect of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

The Shiny Vault rare Charizard VMAX from Shining Fates is currently one of the most sought after and valuable cards in the Sword & Shield series. Whats better than Charizard? Charizard VMAX? Whats better than Rainbow? Shiny, of course. Illustrated by CG. Works. Available in a standard size and a jumbo size (see jumbo prices below), this was the full-art standard version of the incredibly popular rainbow shiny 150/147 from the Burning Shadows set. From left to right: M Charizard EX 107/106, M Charizard EX 13/108, M Charizard EX Full Art 101/108. Rainbow cards are visually shiny and glint, like a holo card, but are also rainbow in color. So far, there’s only one Charizard-GX that’s printed in rainbow, which is the Burning Shadows expansion version. It has one of the highest values, so if you find this card make sure you keep hold of it (or auction it off).

The full art version of 11/106 features an usually docile looking Charizard, which is a nice change from the fire breathing action shots used on many cards.Illustrated by Ryo Ueda. Charizard-GX was introduced to replace Charizard-EX. It has been printed in various sets throughout Sun & Moon, and different cards have different values. Left to right: Charizard RC5/RC32 from the Generations Radiant Collection, Charizard 11/108 Rare Holo from Evolutions and Dragon Majesty's 3/70 Charizard. The most valuable Charizard-GX cards are shiny, rainbow and promo releases. See below for individual card prices. Most Valuable Charizard-GX Pokemon Card Left to right: Reshiram & Charizard GX 20/14, Reshiram & Charizard GX 194/214, Reshiram & Charizard GX 217/214. Arguably not quite the competitive staple of its Reshirard predecessor but a nice card none the less, and by no means terrible in play.
