About this deal

I was hoping this might be a wonder product that helps take off my makeup - but alas it's more a take the day off when I am having a makeup-free day or after an oil cleanser first -- but that is fine. I hope that CeraVe one day bring out a line of an oil cleanser to remove makeup because I would pledge my allegiance and they would be the ultimate holy grail products!! As we mentioned above, the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is able to clean without stripping your skin of its natural moisture thanks to the inclusion of ceramides. In fact, all CeraVe skin care products contain essential ceramides that your skin needs to help restore and maintain its natural barrier. Like other Cerave products, this one is unscented, very hydrating to my dry skin and not foaming. It has a slightly similar consistency to Cerave Hydrating Cleaner only this one is transparent. I usually use micellar water to clean SPF and any other makeup products before cleaning it with my cleanser. Surprise surprise, the product does the same job as my micellar water! Very clean yet hydrating, it didn't dry out my skin at all and my face doesn't feel tight after wash. For face & body. Suitable for normal to very dry skin. Also suitable for sensitive skin, baby skin & atopic-prone skin.

Traditional oil cleansers, as the name suggests, are oil-based cleansing formulas. These products usually emulsify (lather) into a foaming texture when applied with water. They often feature plant-based oils in their formulas, such as squalane oil. CeraVe’s Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser combines oil-based ingredients and surfactants in an efficacious cleansing formula. As another reviewer said, it seemed more like a “gel” like foam cleanser rather than a traditional oil cleanser you would use during a double cleanse. Whereas facial cleansers are formulated with the delicate skin on your face in mind, body cleansers are designed to support the skin on your body (which can affect the concentration of active ingredients used, for example). Always read the label carefully to discover if your cleanser has been formulated for use on your face, body, or in some cases, is suitable for both. In our opinion, CeraVe products deliver value for money, but take a look at other brands that don’t require you to sacrifice your precious money. Oil cleansers work on the scientific principle of “like dissolves like.” This principle explains that, essentially, water dissolves water and oil dissolves oil. CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser uses oil-based ingredients to break down oil-based impurities on your skin’s surface (like makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum) and surfactants to break down water-based ingredients.

When choosing anoil-based cleanser, we recommend looking for options that are labeled “ non-comedogenic,” such as CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser. This indicates that the oil cleanser is formulated not to clog your pores. As an avid double cleanser, I am always looking for a wide variety of different cleanser types that can suit my skins needs on any particular day. The CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is a gentle but effective cleanser which has become a staple in my skin routine. I reach for this cleanser when I feel like my skin needs a thorough clean, whether that be because I applied makeup, high SPF, or have just generally had an active day out in the elements and need to thoroughly clean my skin. I more commonly use this as my first cleansing product. I know I wasn’t the only one engrossed in wishful thinking (yes, my desires are often related to skincare, what can I say, you’re passionate or you’re not 🤪). Most people who reviewed this product on social media were quite confused about the concept! There’s no doubt you’ve seen CeraVe skin care products lining the shelves of your favorite drug store. Founded in 2005, this well-known dermatologist-developed skin care brand provides customers with affordable products that effectively repair and strengthen the skin’s natural barrier.

Miscellaneous

No matter what type of skin you have—whether it’s dry, oily, combination, or sensitive—cleanser is a skincare staple in any routine. A gentle facial cleanser and body cleanser are must-haves for all skin types when you’re looking to maintain fresh, healthy-looking skin. Face and body washes help thoroughly cleanse your skin of dirt, excess oil, and dead skin cells, and set the stage for the rest of your skincare regimen. For refilled products in the store, the most up to date list of ingredients should be obtained locally after refill of the product on the point of sale). They have a whole range of cleansers, suited to different skin types and needs. CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is the latest one, but strangely enough, it hasn’t launched (yet?) in the United States (I don’t know why!). But it has been sold in Europe and Australia for several months already.

My skin felt clean but not too tight and dry after using it. However I wouldn’t describe my skin as feeling hydrated afterwards, I definitely still needed to moisturise my skin not long after shower or it would begin to feel dry. Without ceramides, the skin’s barrier is weakened, which can lead to dryness, itchiness, and even signs of aging. Topical application of ceramides can help to replenish ceramide levels, thus restoring the skin’s natural barrier.Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number). Ceramides are a family of waxy lipid molecules that are naturally produced by the skin and are vital in supporting the skin’s barrier (the stratum corneum). A properly functioning stratum corneum is essential for healthy skin as it maintains epidermal hydration and serves as a barrier that responds to environmental stressors, infections, irritants, and allergens. Enriched with Triglyceride and Squalane to maintain skin barrier and moisturise without a greasy feel

In French, there is less doubt. The name “Huile Lavante Moussante Hydratante” is rather clear (if you speak French obviously lol). The name suggests it’s a face and body wash oil, not a makeup remover. And it’s also a category of products that is quite common in France, especially if you visit pharmacies. Most of the pharmacie brands have one ( Aderma, La Roche Posay, Avène, Bioderma, Eucerin… and so on!). Very happy with my result. Ever since my initial use, I started using it daily in the evening to wash off SPF and other dirt on my face. Ingredients:AQUA/WATER, GLYCERIN, PEG-200 HYDROGENATED GLYCERYL PALMATE, COCO-BETAINE, DISODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, PEG-120 METHYL GLUCOSE DIOLEATE, POLYSORBATE 20, PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE, PEG-150 PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRASTEARATE, PPG-5-CETETH-20, PEG-6 CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES, SQUALANE, CERAMIDE NP, CERAMIDE AP, CERAMIDE EOP, CARBOMER, TRIETHYL CITRATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, SODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, SODIUM LAUROYL LACTYLATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, CHOLESTEROL, CITRIC ACID, CAPRYLOYL GLYCINE, HYDROXYACETOPHENONE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CAPRYLIC/ CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, TRISODIUM ETHYLENEDIAMINE DISUCCINATE, PHYTOSPHINGOSINE, XANTHAN GUM, BENZOIC ACID. (Code F.I.L. C273796/1)

Formula-wise, it contains gentle cleansing ingredients, plenty of essential ceramides to preserve the skin barrier, squalane, hyaluronic acid and cholesterol, and its pH is neutral (so 7, which is a bit high for my preference, but it never stripped my skin; just goes to show that the formula is still queen 😉 )! No doubt, it is indeed a foaming cleanser, not a makeup removing oil. In fact, it can only remove super light makeup. If, like me, you wear a sunscreen every day plus a full makeup look with foundation and mascara/liner, you’ll have to remove your makeup first with a proper makeup removing product, no doubt about it! What Is the “Double Cleansing” Method?“Double cleansing” refers to a facial cleansing method where you wash your face twice in a row, using two different cleansers. This is most often done by using an oil-based cleanser first, followed by a water-soluble cleanser that’s best-suited for your skin type (cream, gel, or lotion). “Double cleansing” can be useful for some skin types (such as oily skin) but its benefits will vary depending on your skin’s needs. Because nope, CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is not a makeup remover, but rather a face and body wash!
