As a third grade teacher I'm always looking for high interest high vocabulary books for my students to read. I want the book to be part of a long series in case they like it they can continue reading on their own during silent reading time. This book was not only full of high vocabulary but it was very funny. The kids loved it, especially the Flip-O-Ramas. They laughed out loud and looked forward to our daily read aloud. Captain Underpants was a bit so-so in this one, mostly to do with several things (which I can't tell because it would spoil things). Though I have to say he regained his awesomeness near the end again. One of the students seen at the Invention Convention is called Madison Mancini; Madison Mancini is Dav Pilkey's niece.
