Fukuzawa treats Ranpo to red bean porridge, where the boy talks about his bewilderment towards adults, his expulsions at school and work, and his genius parents. Figuring that Ranpo is quite special, Fukuzawa allows the boy to come with him amidst his initial reluctance. They soon arrive at a theater, where Fukuzawa is hired to apprehend a criminal after receiving a death threat signed by an ambiguous "V". They are met by the manager, Egawa, who shows Fukuzawa the note regarding the murder, which Ranpo thinks will happen. Chūya soon escapes from him, only to be caught by Verlaine who reveals having slayed the Flags moments ago during Chūya's absence. The assassin says he wishes to kill everyone associated with Chūya and partially opens the Gate within the boy, causing gravity to go haywire and unleash Arahabaki's flames, until Osamu Dazai arrives to nullify it. He then takes Chūya to the bar, where he witnesses his friends' corpses. I'll try to write this review without any spoilers hahahhaha I've spoilt a lot in my updates so yes, hopefully this will be a spoiler-free review. Dead Apple’s canonicity has been debated many times by fans, as it has not been written by Kafka Asagiri. Be as it may, watching the movie should be enough if you’re not interested in reading the novel. The plot can be confusing at times and u/zuavia made a great guide explaining the plot of Dead Apple, which I recommend reading. I thought it would be no use for me to read the light novel too, thinking I'd rather read the manga anyway. I mean.. I've already emotionally destroyed by the manga, right? I won't again been destroyed by the light novel too....... right ? Osamu Dazai and the dark era - takes place four years before the start of the series and focuses on Dazai’s past with the Port Mafia, as well as his reason for leaving the organisation. It has been adapted into the anime.

Since A-P does not list these titles separately, this review will have to combine my thoughts on the titles I have read. Beast - tells the story of an alternative version of the world of Bungo Stray Dogs. The light novel has been adapted into three manga volumes. It is not part of the main BSD universe.

So, first of all I'd like to say, this book... this book is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. No, it's more that just beautiful, it's MAGNIFICENT. If you have read the synopsis, you'll know that this book is sets in a parallel world where the good main character becomes the bad guy and vice versa. Honestly at first, I was a little afraid to read it because usually when I read about the parallel world of a novel (yes, in fanfiction etc), I don't see the connection with the original story. For example. the characters become completely different or there's no explanation on how the parallel world exists. But in this novel, in this story... BOOM Asagiri sensei perfectly connects the relation between the original world of Bungo Stray Dogs and its parallel world. I might sound exaggerating but, you'll know that it's true if you read this book. I wish I can say how the relationship between these two worlds is explained but uh-oh it will be a spoiler then hahahaha Just once, I want you to imagine just how much it could affect a person if you told them they weren't human." Of course, as a fan of Asagiri, I would say that this book is AMAZING. The characters are on point, the plot are on point, the physics theory are on point, and the connection with the canon world is on point. I especially love shin soukoku's fighting scene, I love how deeply Asagiri explore emotion of both Akutagawa and Atsushi, I love how the both of them had justice as equal compared to their canon self. I loved reading about the characters introduced in chapter one you know- lipman, pianoman, doc,etc. I'm still sad all of them died :( I was really loving those guys...
