About this deal

Valentino Uomo is conceived as a young Italian heir, whose timeless elegance comes from his legacy. The new edition of the fragrance Valentino Uomo from 2014, Valentino Uomo Intense, comes out in the spring of 2016, announced as the more intense, charismatic and masculine version. I also had trouble finding the leather note on the Valentino, but this must be due to my skin chemistry, because it was more apparent on a friend of mine who also wore it the other day). If you haven't smelled any iris fragrance yet, then I recommend to go and smell it as soon as possible. Words can't describe the smell, therefore I am writing as if you have already smelled something like VUOI. Prada L'homme Intense, Givenchy Gentleman are a couple top frags.

Unfortunately, as far as performance is concerned, I couldn't complete the experiment as I ended up having an unscheduled meeting at night and had to take a shower. After the shower, I could still smell both on my arms almost equally well. This is a fall/winter fragrance that's suitable for day or night time wear. This is also a perfect office fragrance and would work great on a date night as well. For the first 20 mins this is ever so slightly more masculine than the newest one (in that it’s a little more aromatic and slightly less sweet). And this is maybe slightly stronger (or maybe more sprayed out than from my sample of the newest one). But essentially they smell the same. And the dry down is identical. Valentino Uomo Intense EDP opens with a strong projection of sweet, leather, and spicy accords. The opening is bold, masculine, mature, elegant, projecting, and very pleasant. The clary sage comes up for a moment, just to pave the way for the leather. The clary sage contributes with a sweet, herbaceous, spicy, and leathery touch, the mandarin orange, is almost unnoticeable. Soon after the initial application the leather and iris fully develop, the iris creates a mild and projecting powdery accord. The leather is the most prominent note, aromatic, bold, dark, but not animalic or offensive, but with that combustible or gasoline vibe found in fragrances that feature strong leathery accords, yet, it comes across as refined and elegant. The tonka bean and vanilla are the sweetening notes, noticeable but not as strong as the leather, they contribute with their sweetness and a bit of a gourmand delectable touch. The opening to dry down transition is relatively linear, the fragrance opens with a strong projection, bold and intense, but as it transitions, it softens to a moderate projection. The iris makes the fragrance mild powdery. The leather accord is consistently the featured note. Once Valentino Uomo Intense EDP has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, leather, sweet tonka, vanilla, and powdery iris fragrance with spicy accords. The fragrance feels bold, casual, classy, commanding, delectable, dry, elegant, exotic, formal, heavy, high-quality, imposing, leathery, masculine, mature, mysterious, nocturnal, powdery, refined, sophisticated, sweet, warm, and very pleasant. It's not very versatile and that's because I don't see it worn in very elegant outfits. It is a fragrance that attracts attention, is immediately felt and goes great with romantic close encounters or evening outings in the city with friends. I told myself for ages that I didn't need this since I already had DHI, which is one of my all-time favorite takes on iris. However, with all the ongoing talk about DHI reformulation and discontinuation, and because I was able to find a bottle at less than full price, I bit the bullet and indulged in this one blind. I am so glad that I did. The two are similar enough that I now feel like I can get my DHI fix without worrying about exhausting my current bottle. The Sage and Tonka do make it lean designerish, but in a good way. The Tonka makes this a dark fragrance. The Iris plays a middle support role unfortunately because i just want more & more, and for it to outside the other prominent notes. So i over-spray like a mf! lol :D It does give off a bit of a 'come hither' sexy vibe to it. And because it's such a dark fragrance, i call this my 'dark horse' frag, that really represents my personality.

This is very elegant and best suited for fall/winter/colder weather. I have only been wearing this to work so I could test the performance and I have received a surplus of compliments from both genders. A married woman I work with says this smells like 'make-up sex or revenge sex', lol, whatever that means. By about half an hour later, both colonies start to drift slightly apart, following slightly different paths. Valentino felt more linear, still iris-strong, whereas DHI’s iris begins to settle a bit and you’re left with an extremely pleasant “chocolatey” aroma (maybe the cocoa powder some reviewers mention?). The leathery character of this scent is intensely masculine. Originally created from actual scrap leather infused with burnt birch peel, a leather accord is now mainly birchbark essence free of animal-based products. Opening this perfume is a top of mandarin and clary sage. These gradually fade, making way for middle notes of tonka bean and iris. At last the base of leather and vanilla rises to perfect the olfactory experience. Valentino Perfumes: Price UK And both versions last much longer than my carded sample of Givenchy Gentleman EDP, and retain that special spicy something from the beginning to end which is lost in Givenchy Gentleman. Really good fall/winter fragrance right here and for sure I do understand that similarity to the Dior Homme line but I wouldn't say they're exactly the same but rather it seems that it's inspired by the Dior Homme line. These are a little bit more accessible with the sweeter notes, this has a note that's reminiscent of a mocha or some other type of sweet coffee. It's warm, it's rich, it has that iris but there's something fresh about it too off the top. While I do think that it's a fantastic fragrance, I don't think it's quite as a high a quality fragrance as, say, Dior Homme Original. I just think there's something a little bit extra that brings that fragrance up to a 10/10, this is a very strong 9/10!I just got Valentino uomo intense from notino UK, and the bottle is different, it's not a built-in atomisers. mine has a cap and spikes around the collar or the bottle. Dior Homme Intense is great with those musky Ambrette seeds and chocolate-iris combo, and if I never ever smelled Uomo Intense before I'd say its one of the best Iris scents for men ever. Uomo Intense is an upmarket fragrance by Valentino and the signature scent of many a man. It first débuted in 2016. Intense eaux de parfum, such as this one, may contain up to 30% essential oils. They need only be applied sparingly. Sweeping Olfactory Pyramid

This is a 'dark freshy'. It's citrus brightens up the dark dna of the other ingredients, while the Iris makes it sexy. Valentino Uomo Intense is tailored without sharp edges, sensual, typical Italian, amazes and attracts attention from all sides. A real star on a stage where thousands of iris flowers are thrown.but here's another problem, I got Valentino uomo as well, and no batch code matching for that one as well when I searched? I have smelled Dior Homme Intense and even the Parfum version, which IMO is way too dark and almost scary too wear. Something about the Valentino makes it much easier to wear, fun and more 'alive'. where have I been? I mean, I was late to the Dior Homme party but this party here. absolute banger! same goes for the Valentino uomo 😚👌🏾

Initial projection is strong at around 6 feet. Sillage is very strong, leaving a heavy scent trail. After a few hours the projection was still more than arms length and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. After around 8 hours the projection was still about arms length and there was still an easily noticeable scent trail. At the 12 hour mark, the projection was within 12 inches, but there was still a slightly noticeable scent trail. Beast mode performance. Nevertheless, VUI is a gorgeous, timeless fragrance. It speaks of understated luxury, of calculated repose. My nose doesn't receive it as feminine, but there is certainly something of the dandy here. Its flamboyant iris soul is illuminated by the tangy mandarin and grounded by the sweetly vanillic leather: a dialogue of powder and ambrosia. Better suited to cool weather, formal occasions, and evening wear. Impressive longevity (10+ hours on me) and sillage (not quite room-filling, but nearly). The bottle has a lovely heft and intriguing texture, and the atomizer distributes heavily and evenly. From my interpretation, a man wearing this is a bold, sophisticated gentleman that is daring and attractive. Test out iris based fragrances before committing to this, I strongly advise that first. In conclusion, if I had to choose, I’d go for DHI, by a very small margin, maybe 9.2 vs. 9.5 (yes, I REALLY enjoy both). This stuff is sexy, creamy, rich, seductive and sensual. The version I have projects quite well and the longevity is superb. I am not sure if the newer formulation has good performance. This lasted 8 hours on my clothing and about 6 hours on skin. This scent is a masterpiece, and I put it up there with the other iris heavy-hitters (Dior Homme Parfum, Prada L'homme Intense, and Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee). It's classy, sophisticated, and always gets positive attention. Couple that with the killer performance, and you got a perfect score from me. Add this one to your collection ASAP. Even so, the differences remain extremely subtle, and an untrained nose would have a hard time distinguishing the two (I doubt anyone smelling it on my skin at a distance would notice the difference, and in this case, I'm including trained noses as well).
